#rat rambles #oc posting #lobotomy posting #🎇#yum-yum has grown on me massively in recent times. he's my sad wet old man who is trying his best #how good is his best? debatable. but it's certainly better than like literally everyone else in the building.#his biggest faults are just that for all he cares he's very bad at communicating that and very bad at reading relationships #he doesn't rly realize the latter until it's far too late and it very much crushes him just how much abuse he never noticed there was #especially since geminiano is one of those people in a abusive situation he didn't know about #mary has a similar situation actually. except she definitely wasn't trying her best in the slightest.#mary was very much coming in having been burned too many times to want to put too much stock into anyone around her #but she's mary so try as she did to convince herself she didn't care she still very much did. a Lot.#so the last stretch before the end is a lot of her and yum-yum going oh god I did Not do enough.#except one of them knew they were doomed but kept trying anyways and the other didn't know they were doomed and didn't try until too late #which is a shame because when she actually is trying she's actually not a bad leader figure #in the 3rd facility she's the ducktape holding the facility together because someone has to be the marriage counselor for all these bozos #but alt facility mary in particular was doubled burned by the white knight incident so she was very deliberately distant #while for yum-yum the whitenight incident is exactly why he cares so much about these people #stuck in that little elevator with three other people in what he was sure were going to be his last moments sure did things to his brain #he's particularly attached to all three of them over everyone else but geminiano is the one he's absolutely the most attached to #partially because she recovered him from a panic during the breach and partially because she was the lowest level of them when it happened #he has a lot of respect for her and very much feels in debt to her #not even fully for saving his life as far as he's concerned the fact that any of them survived that was pure luck #but for being the spark for him fully seeing the humanity in the other three for the first time #he got very used to seeing most ppl as just walking corpses or gears in some machine or another #but in that moment even though he was sure they were all going to be corpses very soon he saw them as people who were about to die #he feels a bit self conscious about being so dedicated to them for that alone but he still feels it's all he can do at this point

#rat rambles #also one of my siblings has like. the most intense little ceiling fan I've ever seen.#I hung out in their room for the first time in years a bit ago and I was seething with jealousy #it should have been me. sobs and wails.#my worst part of my room isn't even the windows tbh it's that I'm pretty sure my bed is on top of the only working vent #there's another one on my ceiling but it does jack and shit #but I occasionally hear soft noises from the back of my bed and feel a soft soft breeze behind it #but there's absolutely no fucking room to move shit around in my room + Im too attached to my beds current position so. it shall stay.#look having a light switch right above your head when you wake up is convenient. especially when you don't have windows and would like to #not be forced to navigate in pitch black all the time.#but. I do deeply wish my room could have better cooling. so ceiling fan sounds wonderous and magical to me.#also at the last house my family lived in my room had one and it was awesome #I was actually able to use thick blankets back then too. working ac plus a good fan will allow that.#well. when the ac did work. it broke at lot in that house.#idk rap battle between constantly breaking ac and constant water leaks right outside my room #the cons of being right by the laundry room and water boiler I suppose #the pros outweigh the cons tho I think. especially since our ancient chunky freezer is there and I like that thing.#it has mostly frozen meat inside but I just think it's neat. most powerful freezer I've ever had the pleasure of sharing a home with.#I know it's old but I don't actually remember how old it is. I should look into it at some point old household appliances are cool.#maybe I should also look into how old our ceiling fans are... and also how good quality they're supposed to be #cause the variety in quality between them is quite jarring tbh #the one in our living room sucks ass #why do my mom and sibling get to hog the good ones all to themselves. it gets so unbearably hot in there sometimes man.
