This was my favorite photo of 2013 by far. It was a stormy day and Garret and I swam out at Morro Rock trying to get a few shots while the swell was still big. We got a lot of good shots that morning but this one was definitely the best shot. This was my second favorite photo I have taken this year. I woke up early Thanksgiving morning and reached the beach before it was light. The swell though turned out to be way different then predicted and while everyone went to the rock, I decided to swim out on my own to a little break away from everyone else. It's relaxing being on your own out there and I have found peace like never before drifting around in that vast expanse.
