All Rachel wanted was for things to go back to how they were before Finn left. Why wasnât it that easy. At least then they were all together and happy. Now they just seemed torn and falling apart. The truth of the matter was that if Rachel lost either one of them, she probably would be heart broken and devastated. She had grown extremely close to both Finn and Quinn. She loved them both so much and now everything was at risk. She could hear the mumbling of sounds going on in the kitchen but she still didnât leave her office until she had stopped crying a bit. There were still a few loose tears falling down her face when she went to go check on Quinn and Finn. All she could do was stand in the doorway while she listened to the end of the conversation. Finally Rachel found her voice and spoke up, âNo! Thatâs not happening! None of this is happening! I wonât let it!â Rachel spoke quickly and forcefully. âQuinn, youâve been in this childâs life from day one and I love you. This baby loves you and I donât know what on earth Iâd do without having you around. Youâre not allowed to leave me.â Then Rachel turned towards Finn and began to shake her head, âAnd you! We just got you back! Yes! Things are a little crazy and Quinnâs a little on edge but youâre not going anywhere either. This baby is yours too and I love you the same as I love Finn and I want us to go back to the way things were when all of us were happy!â Rachel demanded as she started to feel the hot tears in her eyes. âWe love each other! We all love each other, a lot!âÂ
âOh, I am a little on edge? That was a good joke, Rachel.â Quinn shook her head and just sighed out, as she tried to focus on the food she was making for the other two, as she continued listening to Rachel and Finn talking. Well, maybe Rachel was right, or maybe Finn was right, but since ever, Quinn always put before her, and maybe now it was her turn to put herself in front, and try to do everything better for herself, not for others. âTo go back to the way things were? Well, We were in high school, and then college⌠Do you really think this is going to work out now?â She asked as she turned around to face the other two again. âWe are no longer kids, Rachel, and of course, the three of us know one of us will end up with a broken heart, and you know why? Because we wonât be in a relationship together forever.â Quinn pointed out and shrugged. âSo, I am going to be the one suffering and leaving, okay? Because, we know this used to work when we were younger but now? This wonât work out!â Quinn took a deep breath and just started walking around the kitchen to prepare the table for Rachel and Finn. âYou two are having a baby, so enjoy it, and be happy with this. Get married, donât get married, whatever you two want, but I am out of this, okay? I have the right to be happy too, and to feel comfortable in a relationship, not to feel as if I am the âtrashâ, that people use when they donât have the other person, and are horny, or something. Finn is back now, so my job here is done.â Quinn was being hard, but she was also being honest, she knew this was not going to work out. They were no longer kids, they were adults, and they were not stupid, this three way relationship would probably not work. It was fun, and yes, Quinn was in love with both of them, but she needed to suffer to let the others be happy. âDonât expect me tonight. Now, if you excuse me, I will get ready for work.â Quinn said as she went upstairs, so she could take a quick shower, and just leave.
When he heard Rachelâs voice, he turned around backing away from Quinn. As Rachel and Quinn spoke, Finn just kind of backed himself into a corner, literally. He looked between both the blonde and the brunette, sliding his shaking hand into his pocket. âPlease stop yelling,â he said, firmly, hand moving to run over his face. âCan we just stop all of this? We all love each other. We all know that. We can make this work. I know that we can, and this time, we donât have to keep it a secret. Thatâs the difference between high school, college, and now. Weâre adults.â A sigh fell from his lips as Quinn walked away. âRachel, I..â Finn couldnât speak anymore. He didnât know what to say. Quinn was leaving both of themâ all three of them. Was it his fault? Should he have come back? âI just wanted a nice coming home with the three of us. I didnât want this.â Pushing away from the corner that he backed himself into, Finn made his way to gather his things. âI shouldnât have come back, Rachel. Iâm sorry.â Tears were now streaming down his face and he was walking towards the door, but as soon as his hand touched the door knob, he broke down, moving to slide down the door. âI ruined everything,â he tried to say through his sobs, sitting on the floor. âIâm sorry.â He looked up at Rachel, heart breaking all over again. âIâm so sorry.â He put his head in his hands before putting the back of his hands on his knees.
