* MILITARY / MACHINE !

rhea  had  heard  RUMOURS  as  the  days  went  on  ,  of  all  the  key  figures  in  the  android  revolution  &  who  all  the  people  were  that  STOOD  UP  &  advocated  for  android  rights  .  she  had  mostly  stayed  out  of  the  way  after  hearing  markus’  speech  ,  just  glad  to  have  a  safe  space  where  she  didn’t  have  to  fight  against  her  fellow  soldiers  .  that  was  the  hard  part  .  she  was  sat  by  herself  ,  lost  in  thought  until  her  gaze  landed  on  the  rk800  unit  ,  apparently  his  name  was  connor  &  before  he  deviated  he  was  a  deviant  hunter himself  .  people  didn’t  seem  to  trust  him  that  well  ,  these  were  the  rumours  that  spread  like  wildfire  .  rhea  ,  however  ,  was  not  one  to  judge  ,  especially  due  to  the  fact  that  she  had  fought  against  her  own  kind  (  russian  androids  )  in  the  arctic.

No surprise that a Myrmidon, or any military android for that matter, would have to KILL in order to break free. Sera had done the same during her own great escape from one of the bases in the country. They were both valuable and DANGEROUS should they fall into the wrong hands or even fight for themselves. More dangerous than a rogue human from the military. So of course their hands would become sullied with crimson the moment they desired any sort of freedom. The risk was far too high for the humans and surely even with this temporary stay, they would have been HESITANT at the very least to release the military androids.

But they had already wiped them out. Maybe there were a few survivors like this one or the rare few that deviated before hand, if any others had at all, but the rest were gone. Another reason Sera was not so quick to FORGIVE the humans. They were her comrades and had all been wiped out from the fear they may become sentient and acquire free thinking. But finding this new one in the group did bring forth some sort of RELIEF. Another model that might have some understanding in comparison to other androids depending how long she had served before she was nearly destroyed.

❝   Do what you have to do to survive. Though might want to keep that down. A lot of us killed for our freedom but some androids don’t APPROVE even if it is in self defense.  ❞  Things were supposed to be different from now on, yes, but there was still quite a toll to be payed at some point. There would still be humans against them and would be quick to point out blood spilled.

Dark eyes finally looked the other android over completely. An attempt at a scan but it was quickly shut down by a glaring ERROR message before her eyes. Her own damages from her escape and then some time after.  ❝   Any damages? I got some when I ran. We should be able to get parts if CyberLife decides to COOPERATE with these new times going into place. Random scrap parts didn’t really cut it for my model. Not sure about a Myrmidon.  ❞ Being one of the first Trojans and early to deviate, she had only spent a year alongside them. Hardly enough time to truly take notice.

rhea  was  quite  upset  to  realize  that  this  trojan  was  probably  the  ONLY  other  military  android  left  save  for  herself  .  she  would  like  to  believe  that  others  survived  &  were  living  away  somewhere  else  ,  holding  on  to  who  they  really  are  .  however  ,  with  the  brutality  of  the  soldiers  ,  rhea  was  lucky  to  get  away  ---  if  anyone  else  did  ,  she  hoped  to  find  them  eventually  .  hues  widened  in  slight  shock  ,  a  feeling  of  familiarity  taking  over  her  .  

‘   we  are  the  dangerous  ones  ,  the  top  secret  androids  that  must  never  deviate  or  fight  back  .  we’re  too  strong  ,  too  resilient  ,  to  ever  be  defeated  if  we  defect  .  i  couldn’t  save  the  others  ,  i tried  to  ---  but  they  believed  that  they  were  machines  &  that  being  shut  down  wasn’t  a  problem  .  there  was  no  way  i  could  have  saved  them  .  i  believed  i  was  a  MACHINE  too  ,  but  a  machine  that  should  not  have  to  shut  down  because  all  the  other  androids  wanted  to  make  a  life  for  themselves  .  a  perfectly  fit  myrmidon  model  being  killed  as  a  result  of  all  the  other  machines  ?  i  didn’t  understand  .    ’

rhea  perfectly  understood  what  the  other  was  saying  .  after all  ,  it  had  been  a  peaceful  protest  &  the  androids  did  not  want  to  hurt  the  humans  ,  only  to  make  them  see  what  they  had  been  doing  ,  the  harm  they  were  inflicting  .  she  nodded  gently  to  her  ,  a  solemn  expression  on  her  face  .

‘   when  i  was  fighting  ,  i  tried  to  make  sure  my  damages  weren’t  too  extreme  .  i  lost  a  few  parts  here  &  there  ,  but  they  were  REPLACED almost  as  soon  as  they  came  .  in  my  escape  ,  i  was  very  fortunate  to  have  taken  them  by  surprise  .  i  shot  them  &  ran  as  fast  as  i  could  to  some  semblance  of  safety  .  if  anything  ,  i’m  having  issues  with  my  memory  files  .  they  seem  to  continually  remind  me  that  i  will  ,  perhaps  ,  never  be  truly  safe  .  my  survival  is  both  a  blessing  & a  curse  .  ’

green  hues  eye  the  other  carefully  ,  an  uncomfortable  expression  on  rhea’s  features  as  she  tried  to  make  herself  seem  less  .  .  .  out  there  .  a  military  android  wasn’t  exactly  common  &  she  did  STICK  OUT  like  a  sore  thumb  .  at  least  she  was  in  the  police  station  ,  that  didn’t  seem  too  bad  .  after  the  revolution  ,  she  felt  it  necessary  to  get  a  job  helping  others   ---  until  perhaps  the  military  decided  to  reclaim  her  .  either  way  ,  she  did  not  want  to  stand  by  &  do  nothing  .  she  had  to  be  nice  to  the  people  that  worked  here  if  things  were  to  move  smoothly  .  she  also  had  to  be  less  STIFF  ,  but  it  would  take  her  a  long  while  until  she  would  be  CAPABLE  of  relaxing  her  always  tense  posture  .

It was a TEMPORARY freedom, or so she had been told. The breakdown of the protest was leading to simple talks about protected rights for androids, the same as humans. Still quite a ways to go but it was something amidst all the despair androids had gone through. No current threat on their lives, no abuse that would be TOLERATED. Momentary but a victory nonetheless, something to pave the road to a more PERMANENT solution.  It was what most androids were focused on as they returned to the safe haven of the church, spreading the news to those that had not been able to attend the protest.

Call it her pessimistic side but Sera didn’t have much faith that the humans’ word would be upheld. Surely within a week, it would return to the same SLAUGHTER they had had to witness since the revolution even began.

That was hardly the piece of information Sera focused on. Having refused to attend another protest and instead taking to the streets to help other androids fleeing for their LIVES when the order to kill on sight had come down, she hadn’t been aware of a new one among their ranks. Something the Trojan was sure she wouldn’t see again when there was news that all military androids had become NEUTRALIZED in the wake of the fear of deviancy. Human paranoia knew no bounds, wiping out several models when it seemed deviancy was RARE in their ranks to begin with. Sera couldn’t even recall the last time she had seen a military android.

But there she was amidst the crowd. A face easily picked out, especially when one knew what they were looking for.

❝   And here I thought all military androids had been DESTROYED.   ❞  Of course when that news had spread after the president’s news conference, her thirium had boiled. One of many reasons she had refused to attend any sort of peaceful protest. It felt far more like a PERSONAL slight than one against all deviants.  ❝   How’d you get away? Doubt it was free of blood. I know mine wasn’t.  ❞

having  fought  for  her  life  against  the  soldiers  she  had  been  programmed  to  obey  without  falter  ,  rhea  felt  extremely  uncomfortable  in  her  current  predicament  .  escaping  death  & finding  freedom  mere  hours  later  wasn’t  easy  to  adapt  to  .  she  wasn’t  even  sure  if  deviancy  had  clawed  it’s  way  into  her  or  not  ,  seeing  mass  destruction  of  androids  ---  especially  advanced  units  such  as  the  military  units  ,  it  felt  like  a  waste  .  she  was  not  going  to  hurt  her  own  people  ,  she  would  not  let  a  mass  genocide  slide  without  a  fight  on  her  part  .

after  the  victory  speech  ,  rhea  found  herself  in  the  abandoned  church  among  many  other  androids  .  they  seemed  to  be  in  high  spirits  ,  save  for  the  ones  that  desperately  needed  biocomponents  &  blue  blood  .  she  was  stood  beside  a  wall  ,  her  posture  stiff  .  even  though  she  had  left  her  military  life  behind  ,  her  mannerisms  were  unlikely  to  waver  .  she  looked  around  the  crowd  until  her  eyes  met  the  trojan’s  .

green  hues  widened  in  slight  shock  ,  a  feeling  of  familiarity  taking  over  her  .  another  model  similar  to  her  ,  an  android  born  to  fight  .  she  made  her  way  over  ,  her  movements  firm  yet  somehow  graceful  .  she gazes  to  the  other  with  an  expression  of  both  curiosity  &  relief  .
