I’m not holding back... I’m just... surprised.

Aw, you’re a great girl to have by my side as well. Like two peas in a pod, to be honest. I love you like a sister. Hm, nice--I’ll miss my P.I.C, and spending all of summer with you. But I’ll still be happy for you. 

It’s official. I’m joining the Canadian Armed Forces. I will be leaving for basic training at the end of summer.

Hah, I suppose so. Again, thank you. Oh man, I’m not sure I’ll ever be famous per se, but I’d definitely like to work on some professional projects soon enough. Well, quite honestly I’d love to branch out, seeing as I’ve been stuck here for a while now. Not that I dislike it here, but it’d be nice to see some other places as well. Both programs are amazing, so it’s more of an expense/convenience cost issue. But I’ll come to a conclusion soon enough. Just need to consider all of the details.

Well, don’t sell yourself short Eli; you could probably do whatever you wanted if you really put your heart into it. I guess I understand--I would prefer to leave because I don’t really like Toronto, but I still get it. I guess when you’re in to an art form, it’s kind of hard to be stuck in one place; you need more inspiration than what you’re limited to. I don’t know that could only be me though. Good luck with that, I certainly wouldn’t be able to make that decision. Are you excited to graduate? Gonna miss Degrassi?

My little Arlene spitting wisdom at me, as always. You’re right, though. That might be fun! But I’m guessing I can expect you at my house most nights, as per usual? Couldn’t imagine the summer without you. Right, well, I’m hoping to audition for as many shows as possible. We’ll see how that goes.

Maybe, maybe not -- she’s always asking me to rub her feet, so I may pass this summer. But yes, you can def expect me to be there every day this summer. Not kidding. I’ll be around to help with as many scripts as I possibly can. Are you aiming for main characters, supporting characters, or just a guest star?

I appreciate the congratulations, Arlene! I applied to New York Film Academy as well, but that’s a pretty tough program to be accepted into, not to mention expensive. So, three out of four is definitely pleasant news to me. I’m glad you think highly enough of me to believe so, and I’d like to hope that you’re right. Though, choosing between three completely different cities will surely be quite tough.

Oh, well, that’s their loss. Even though I’ve only seen Death of a Bachelor, I know that they’re missing out on a creative mind. They’ll be sad about what they could’ve had, meanwhile, I’ll get to say “I knew him when.” I bet it will be quite the decision. Do you want to stay local or branch out? And if you want to branch out, which has the better program for you? That’s just how I’d figure it out, but do what you think is best, because ultimately, that’s the most important thing. 

I’m very proud to announce that I have been accepted into NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, and the University of Toronto! Now it’s time to sit down and make a decision; this could be quite difficult.

That’s brilliant, Eli! Seriously, congrats. Are those all the schools you’d applied for, or..? Regardless, that’s amazing; I’m sure you have a bright future ahead of you. 

And I’ve got plenty of education this year. Trust me, my mind is crowded with knowledge, but right now, all I can think about is summer. Speaking of which, what are your plans for the summer?

Even when you think you’ve learned enough, there’s always something more you could learning; Pretty sure that’s a quote by someone famous, just not quite sure who. Summer plans? None, just like every other summer in the past. I might go visit my Nana in B.C., but I doubt it. What about you?

Is there some prize include with prom royalty that says I don’t have to go to school for the rest of the year? Because I could totally use the time to catch up on sleep after this weekend, and an early summer definitely wouldn’t be the worst.

Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s a thing, Alli. Besides, even if you’re royalty, you still need to get an education. I don’t blame you though, I could def use some extra time to sleep. 

No problem! That’s what friends are for, right? And by the time we’re done, you’ll be passing all your classes with flying colors.
