2026 Topps Chrome Marvel Comics SKETCH CARDS!!! 😄🥳❤
While I can't show any of my cards until the set drops on July 1st, I can at least share my complete, personal character list with you guys (since Topps has already released the actual set checklist!) 😊
So, HOW DO SKETCH CARD ARTISTS CHOOSE WHO TO DRAW you ask??? Here's how it works:
For each set you get a complete character list to choose from (as well as general guidelines and art direction), and this one in particular had SOOOO many amazing characters (close to 200, if I recall) it was NOT easy to pick!!
Still being a bit of a newbie to the sketch card game (this is only my 3rd year doing this!) this set actually allowed me to work on LOTS of bucket list characters for the FIRST TIME that don't always show up on these lists!
In fact, that's why I came up with so many "battle/versus" cards and "team-up" card ideas for myself! I'd requested 40 cards (which is a lot for me, time-wise!), but wanted to draw SO many more characters that I had to come up with ways to squeeze more of 'em into my 40 cards, which really is a lot more work and time-consuming than it might seem! lol 😅 (but alas, the giddy fan-boy in me was loving every second of it!!! ❤)
Besides getting to draw some of my all-time FAVES again (like Spidey, Wolvie, etc!), almost HALF of my set was ALL-NEW characters I'd never drawn on sketch cards before! 🥳
Well, this set's incredible character list allowed me the opportunity to do my first cards of Colossus, Apocalypse, Jean Grey, Omega Red, Hellverine, Deathlok, Black Knight, Mephisto, Elektra, Stryfe, Tombstone, Abomination, Misery, Silence, and Hallows' Eve, as well as my first official/Marvel-approved cards of characters I'd previously only drawn as PSC's or AP's: Magik, Werewolf by Night, and Man-Thing!
Also, while this was technically my second Marvel-approved Toxin card, it will actually be my first one released (since the set I first drew him for last year hasn't even been announced yet!) 😄
As a life-long, die-hard comics reader and collector, I'm beyond extremely grateful to have worked on this set! It was the entirely COMICS-centric Marvel Universe set I'd been waiting for, an absolute dream come true and honor to be a small part of!!! ❤❤❤
So many hours of hard work with tons of LOVE were poured into each of these cards, and can't wait to start sharing all 40 of them with you guys starting July 1st!! 🔥🥳
