Twilight

Twilight is studying psychology at Canterlot University. She was a gifted kid with undiagnosed autism and now she is burnt out from studying so hard. Her professor, Celestia gave her an assignment to practice her skills on real people, however because she doesn’t have friends, she puts up flyers around the town advertising free therapy with a psychology student. She gets 5 responses: her friends from the canon show in this universe.

Fluttershy

Fluttershy is studying care of animals at Twilight’s uni. She has chronic anxiety and barely leaves the house other than to attend uni. She struggles with social interactions and only feels comfortable talking to her childhood friend Rainbow Dash. Rainbow showed her the therapy flyer and she agreed to do it only if Rainbow did it with her.

Rainbow is a world famous motorbike racer. She loves her job but is a closeted transfem and is at risk of being fired if she comes out. The only person who knows is her friend Fluttershy. Rainbow also has imposter syndrome, believing she is not as good a racer as everyone says, despite coming first in multiple big races. She doesn’t think she needs therapy but agrees to it for the sake of Fluttershy.

Rarity suffers from anorexia and body dysmorphia. She runs her own fashion company and dreams of one day being a model. Despite being rather attention seeking and a drama queen, she truly cares about her closest friends and would never intentionally hurt them. In the past she dated Rainbow Dash but they broke up after many fights and arguments. She was forced to go to therapy by her coworker.

Apple Jack

Apple Jack escaped from a family of street criminals who taught her to lie and steal. She has PTSD and trauma from this and is working to accept her past and become a better person. She longs for a true family but her fears and traumatic flashbacks keep her from becoming close with anyone. She lives with her sister on a farm owned by a kind old lady who took her in after she ran away from her family. She decided to go to Twilight’s therapy after seeing the poster because she couldn’t afford proper therapy.

Pinkie Pie

Pinkie is a world famous pop singer, but she is African and overweight, leading to a lot of hate. She loves partying in her free time and turned to party drugs and alcohol to cope with her stressful life, but is now addicted. She lives in a huge mansion by herself with her pet alligator. Her manager forced her to go to Twilight’s therapy sessions as she didn’t trust any professionals.

Apple Bloom

Like her older sister, Apple Bloom escaped from their criminal family, although she doesn’t regret what they taught her. She likes stealing things and committing crimes while running from the police. She is a high school dropout and works at a fast food place with Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. She often fights the manager when he is ableist about Scootaloo’s disability.

Scootaloo

Scootaloo has POTS so she uses a wheelchair when she finds it hard to stand. Usually her disability doesn’t bother her, unless she gets in someone’s way. She likes trying to do tricks in her wheelchair like a skateboard but it often doesn’t end well. She is a high school drop out and is best friends with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle.
