chaos! at the circ desk
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (2000)
versions of selves that we thought were the best ones 'til versions of versions of others repeating come laughing at everything we thought was important while still making mistakes that you thought you had learned from. if you were wondering.
I've been in shock over this book mend for ages. WHAT was the thought process!!!
Anyway I removed the batshit taping and replaced it with...clear tape?...and the book was so destroyed anyway it didn't make things much worse. Should've told the collections librarian so it could've been withdrawn, buuut I was stubborn.

Public libraries really do have everything
“Public libraries are such important, lovely places!” Yes but do you GO there. Do you STUDY there. Do you meet friends and get coffee there. Do you borrow the FREE, ZERO SUBSCRIPTION, ZERO TRACKING books, audiobooks, ebooks, and films. Have you checked out their events and schemes. Do you sign up for the low cost courses in ASL or knitting or programming or writing your CV that they probably run. Do you know they probably have myriad of schemes to help low income families. Do you hire their low cost rooms if you need them. Have you joined their social groups. Do you use the FREE COMPUTERS. Do you even know what your library is trying to offer you. Listen, the library shouldn’t just exist for you as a nice idea. That’s why more libraries shut every year
If this post persuades even one person to get a free library account and use it, my time on this hellsite will not have been spent in vain
Today, as I was checking in books in the back office, my coworker strode into the room, grabbed a paper towel, and said, "I'm on wolf spider killing duty," before striding right back out.
Bitch I am on the GROUND
Two CDs withdrawn from the collection and one mustard brochure left in a returned book. I kept the mustard guide because I would kill to go to the museum one day

Absolutely haunted by whichever coworker did this
Picked this one up to write a readalike about it, ended up interested enough to check it out and read it, laughed the whole 400 pages through
Impeccable sticker placement on Forg(e)
Somebody nerfed the audiobooks and didn't go for the James Pattersons :/
A very midwestern take on rubber band sizes

Hi hi I made this side blog to yammer on about library stuff without losing it in the mix on my main blog, @toastedcoconutchips.
Basically - I graduated with an MA in LIS in May of this year, and now I work part time at two public libraries. Yes I am financially unstable and yes I weep for my bank on the daily. I also volunteer at a lending library where I originally worked as a practicum student. My URL is winking at my original plan to become an archivist, which is still in the books! But for some time in the future - it's a hard field to get into, so I've heard and learned. I certainly didn't expect to fall in love with librarianship, but here I am, and I wouldn't be surprised if I stayed in this sphere for the rest of my forever, because GOD it's great.
Anyway I'm 27, bi, my name's Annie (check out that sexy sexy name tag in my pfp), and I'll probably tag my posts with annie library association bc ALA/American Library Association. So smart so funny so clever please praise my brilliance goodBYE.
