Pollution
Pollution. One of mankind's dangers. It affects marine wild life, Avian Life, Jungle and Forest Wilf Life, and even Canines and Felines. It is horrible. Some species of animals in different kinds are gone extinct or endangered. But, it doesn't only affect lives, it also affects nature itself. Waters are getting dirty, polluted or even crowed. Land and vegetation are also affected due to loos of other animals and Air Pollution. Air becomes much more dangers for our breathing and others. As you cannot see now, the Ozone layer in the Atosphere is losing and continuously having large blank spots. That layer protects us from rays of the sun and even the most dangerous ray that comes from other parts of the gallaxy.
Okay, but how about plastic?
Plastic is one of the most widely used object in the planet. It can be single use or has other uses. Plastic bags, wrappers, coverings and more can now be found everywhere. There is also a large island of trash somewhere within the Pacific Ocean. But wait, trash usually sinks down to the bottom of the sea or ocean, it can affect coral reefs and marine specied below without us knowing. Oh no, microplastics.
Microplastics?
According to Wikipedia, Microplastics are small parts of platics that are degradable for 1 month if not thousands of years. Since plastics are now in the local and foreign waters, there are more chances of microplastics surrounding the sea. As we were told, there are more trash than the amount of animal species around the globe.
"Microplastics are small barely visible pieces of plastic that enter and pollute the environment. To clarify, microplastics are not a specific kind of plastic, but rather is any type of plastic fragment that is less than five millimeters in length according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA classifies microplastics as less than 5 mm in diameter. They enter natural ecosystems from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to, cosmetics, clothing, and industrial processes.
Two classifications of microplastics currently exist. Primary microplastics, any plastic fragment or particle that is already less than 5.0 mm in size or less before entering the environment. These include microfibers from clothing, microbeads, and plastic pellets (also known as nurdles). Secondary microplastics, microplastics that are created from the degradation of larger plastic products once they enter the environment through natural weathering processes. Such sources of secondary microplastics include water and soda bottles, fishing nets, and plastic bags. Both types are recognized to persist in the environment at high levels, particularly in aquatic and marine ecosystems."
~ Wikipedia
As for today, there are more than 300,000 tons of plastics, including microplatics, everywhere. Aquatic life began decreasing. It is depressing. That not just dynamite fishing, nuclear wars, terrorism attacks, etc. Affects us.
We, as a bond of group in a certain place or even just yourself can help the world. Decrease the use of plastics and save the planet that we call "mother Earth".
