the emphasis on the word ' try ' does succeed in faltering the gleaming vanity of her grin and so does the other's biting inquires, however, never the ambition for seizing an opportunity. As such, the mild irritation that causes her brow to twitch dissolves into a chuckle. ❝ So are James and Meowth. The smirk that had curled at the corner of Misty's mouth when the vein upon Jessie's forehead throbs vanishes as soon as a different pokémon's name is announced. The odd noise that escapes her isn't natural—instead, it is one of panic and terror. She takes a few steps back, her hands trembling as she reaches her one of her own pokéballs. With wide eyes, she is forced to look at the buzzing, opposing pokémon, ready to make the red hair on the back of her neck stand on end and her throat close up. But the power that rumbles from Gyarados as soon as he is released from his pokéball allows her to breathe. She sighs in relief, hand at her temple as though it will help her calm. Of course, she has to use one of her strongest and most trusted partners!

While Misty is still the Gym Leader of the Cerulean City Gym, she makes sure to keep her badges locked away. After learning the hard way that her sisters would the Cascade Badge away in exchange for favours like cleaning the pool area and tanks instead of earning it by winning a battle, Misty heavily tightened the security to her main office. The Cascade Badges are handcrafted and are expensive, valuable beyond being a symbol of her gym. Once her sisters start to show improvement, she begins to trust them more.

After Misty is promoted to the Elite Four and her sisters are reinstated as the Gym Leaders, Misty still makes sure that her sisters are strict about when they give out badges. They take it in turns to monitor and act as the Gym Leader so that they can all also continue their performing arts and modelling careers alongside their gym duties.
