Just wanted to let everyone know the OP of this told me yesterday that when she wants to reference this tumblr post she goes back to the original conversation from 2019 in our messenger chat and reads it from there. She also showed me parts of the conversation that didn’t make it into the post and said “I didn’t include it because what you said wasn’t funny”.

Sorry forgot to add the lore updates of the past 7 years. The snake actually did meet a boy on a dating app and is getting married to him. The mongoose was actually a “cis lesbian” at the time but is a boy now. Life imitates art. Peace and love on planet earth.

the boyfriend (M) i met on the dating app is now my finance (gender fluid) and based on my track record will probably become my wife by the end of it.

I do think it's kind of funny how john green wrote a book about tuberculosis that brought a lot of renewed attention to the subject and he's since become the darling of the tb world, speaks at tb conferences, my dad and every other tb researcher I know is absolutely smitten with him, and they'll be like "we love this guy! have you heard of him??" and I have to be like well yes, I have. for other reasons

For all its faults Tumblr has truly ruined all other social media for me because my friends all have Instagram and are all trying to get me on Instagram more but every time I open Instagram there are like fifteen things screaming for my attention and when I get over myself long enough to start scrolling it's like. Where is my chronological dash. Where is the following-only option. Who are these people. Why are there so many videos. Everyone is screaming at me. And then before I know it I'm thirty minutes into scrolling and I haven't seen a single thing that I actually care about. At least on Tumblr when I see stuff I don't care about I know someone I follow has found a new interest.
