a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.

an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.

fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.

27. what is your most and least favourite part of writing?

My least favourite has got to be hmmm. Actually inputting my writing to AO3 (summaries, tags, title, etc.) Though I suppose actual like. Thing you have to write wise, this is somewhat specific, but descriptions in between dialogue. God I hate doing that. And my MOST favourite part of writing would be getting to discuss the stuff I've written ^-^ like the symbolism I've crammed in there and whatnot. And writing itself wise....scenic/background descriptions. I always have so much fun writing them and it is very gratuitous when I do include them lolllll.

56. What's something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

I would have to say the like....atmosphere of my writing, if that makes sense? I enjoy making stuff very visceral and. Not dreamy per say but dreamlike probably. I think it's a cool quality to have, and it's especially fitting because half the time my fics take place in dreams anyways lolll!! And I know that that's what people tend to enjoy a lot about my writing so that's a bonus!!!

75. What scene in [Fanfic Name] took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?

Oh gods. Insert that thousand yard stare meme. Okay ermmm. Well my thanares fic certainties, dissolving (spoilers ahead btw) took me way too fucking long in general, and I would say the scene in there that took me Ages was probably the flashback segments (technically that's two scenes but I wrote them together and split them up whilst editing sooo it counts to me). The reason it was so problematic would be because of the characterisation required for the scene, as well as figuring out the correct balance between implicit and explicit. The characterisation was difficult because it was a scene intended to specifically challenge and almost. flip the thanares dynamic. This was necessary not only for the larger narrative of each of their struggles/opinions about what is certainty and/or a constant (and what that means for their relationship, of course), but also because of the Circumstances of the scene, aka they're both really drunk and Ares is recently traumatised (Aloadae incidentTM). So basically I was just going hmmm okay you need to be out of character now but PLAUSIBLY so. My other issue was difficult because. well. jesus fuck thanares just dont COMMUNICATE but I'm trying to write a fic here???? So it was incredibly annoying trying to strike the perfect mix of like. making the bullshit (considering Ares gifted Thanatos something MADE OUT OF THE SHACKLES/CHAIN HE WAS BOUND BY FOR 13 MONTHS. ahem. this may be an understatement) they're doing and the reasons why it's important clear enough that people reading it can also tell what's going on, but also letting them stick with their thanaresy ways and Not Think About The Implications or Emotions or Anything Ever. I agonised A Lot over it. I hope all of this makes sense. Truly, I hate them khkhkh.
