When Ai was talking about why she was bullied, she says it may have happened “because I was out”. Assuming the subtitles I have are correct, what exactly would ‘out’ mean in this situation? Up until now, we were told that Ai was bullied because of her heterochromia, but is this implying that Ai is perhaps gay and her classmates knew about it? I haven’t seen anyone else post about this line, so maybe I’m misinterpreting it and it is referencing something else. We also still have a few episodes left, so I’ll have to come back to this line once I have more information.
