Genuinely wonder how many of the cuts and changes to Beastars was so they didn’t have to make more models

The Beastars anime made a lot of changes from the manga, were they necessary? No. But did they add to the story? No. But was it well written? No. But was it interesting? Also no. But did I enjoy watching it? Not really.

one annoying thing about ao3 is that it never bothers to make distinctions between manga and anime adaptations if they were made before like, 2020. So even if an anime adaptation is wildly different from its source material it’s still counted under the same tag. But what’s really obnoxious is that it’s only mega popular shit that gets the distinction, even if they have virtually no differences at all.
