— Anya, only child, grew up in Silverwood Terrace to her politician father and headmistress ( of the same private school Anya attended ) mother. Her grandfather was on the Los Angeles City Council prior to an early retirement so it was no surprise when her uncle ( her aunts husband ) was elected the Chief of LAPD several years ago.
— She was destine to train as a professional dancer. From the moment she found her feet, her mother had her training whenever she could, group classes, private lessons, in the dance studio they had installed in their Silverwood home. She was good, good in the way that you were going places, especially when you were dedicated and had connections.
— That wasn’t to be, aged sixteen and two months before what could be considered her big break stepping stone post high school she fell hard whilst cheerleading, shattering her knee-cap and requiring reconstructive surgery. Most of her Junior year, and the beginning of her Senior year were stolen with intense physical therapy to get her back on her feet and moving around properly again. Needless to say, her career as a dancer was over. During this time she was also pushed into therapy by her parents, not wanting their only child ‘broken’ because she believed her life was over, she still doesn’t really like to talk about it.
— Plans changed, and instead she went Dartmouth College, completing a degree in Criminology whilst again competing on the cheer team ( much to her parents dismay after they’d paid a fortune on the best physical therapy money could buy — however, cheer had stolen enough from her and she wasn’t going to turn her back on it out of bitterness ).
— Upon return to Silver Lake ( something she never intended to do ) and unsure of where to go next she joined the police academy after a little pressure was applied by her grandfather, her lack of political interest meant she wasn’t following in his, or her fathers, footsteps. For someone who was usually fast to make firm friends this was a difficult transition, finding her connection to the chief did not bring her many brownie points.
— She’s been a police officer for thirteen months now and she’s hoping to get promoted to detective soon, even if her connections get her there ( even if she wants to prove she can do it alone, she knows thats never truly going to be seen as the determining factor ).
— Arguably, her best friend is her cat. Fondu ( named after ballet, not cheese ), he’s the fluffiest 2 year old Ragdoll and was a graduation gift from her parents, along with a Porche 911, which lives in the garage at her parents house in favour for her day-to-day Jeep.
— Don’t undermine her height (she’s 5′1″), she can get someone double her size on the floor in three seconds flat.
