Smoke was filling up the house. The house was going down in flames. There were two people left inside of the house. Jeremy Heere and Michael Mell. Michael was still in the bathroom, un aware of the fire that has been started. Jeremy is looking for Michael, full of regret for his actions.

Truth is he felt horrible about what went on earlier. He knew Michael had insecurities, he knew Michael hated himself, yet he still called him a loser. This was all his fault. The squip was turned off when he said that. Jeremy made a huge mistake. 

 He made his way to the bathroom, knocking. no answer. He knocked again, this time louder. still no answer. He began to worry. Either Michael has left or he’s passed out from the smoke, or he just doesn’t want to talk to Jeremy.

“Michael, please, I’m sorry,” he shouted, knocking. 

After that last knock Jeremy felt a small burst of electricity pulse through his veins. 

Jeremy, get out of this house. You could die.

“No, how could I leave Michael alone to die?” He asked.

You must listen. It is imperative that you leave.  

“I’m not leaving him.”

Jeremy continued to knock. A small “help” came from behind the door.  Jeremy was panicking. He never thought he’d be in this position. He never thought he’d put Michael in this position. 

“Michael open the door,” He said shaking the door knob. 

Jeremy you need to leave now. 

“I’m not leaving him here to die.” 

 The lock on the door clicked. The doorknob started to turn before Michael collapsed onto the floor. Jeremy rushed in to find his friend unconscious on the bathroom floor. Surrounded by broken glass and blood. 

Jeremy rushed to Michaels side. He lifted up his sleeves and saw deep gashes across his arms. There was more blood on his pants and stomach. Jeremy found more cuts on his stomach and thighs. He couldn’t help but cry.  “He promised me he’d stop.”

He wrapped toilet paper around the wounds and put Michael on his back. Jeremy slowly made it down the stairs and out the door. He carried Michael outside onto the driveway and carefully set him down onto the cool cement. 

 Jeremy you almost didn’t make it out of there. 

I told you , you need to listen to what I tell you. You and Michael both could have died in that fire. What good would two teenagers do? Michael served no purpose in anyones lives. It’d be a temporary sadness. 

“He’s my fucking best friend. I would never forgive myself if I left him there to die, knowing he could still be saved.”

Jeremy could still feel shocks coming from the squip. It was pulsing through his blood and he could feel a throbbing pain in his skull. It was bearable. It felt like he had a headache. He could bear with it.  

Jeremy knew Michael wouldn’t want to see him ever again. He pulled out Michaels phone and recorded a video of him apologizing for everything and saying ‘the final goodbye’. He wiped away his tears and texted Michaels mom about what just happened. Everything after that became a blur.
