Rarely have I ever stumbled across a fanfic that is as human and unforgivingly raw as The Kubler-Ross Theory by antivenom. Wade and Peter are written in such a realistic and intimate wayâfrom the witty, dry quips to the minute and nervous habitsâthat I have to pause and remind myself that this is fiction. Please give it a read. You wonât regret it. Well, maybe the tears, but that is a small price to pay for an emotional masterpiece.

A quick little comic based on one of my favourite fics, The Kubler-Ross Theory by antivenom. This is from a scene in Chapter 11.
Thereâs just one chapter left and though Iâm excited to see how itâll culminate, Iâm also really sad to say goodbye to a deeply emotional story. Both Wade and Peter are wonderfully written and their banter has exactly the kind of dry, unapologetic tone that I adore. If you love slow burns (and god do I love a slow, sizzling, not-sappy-at-all budding of a relationship), youâll enjoy this fic.Â

After all this time, and Wade still thinks thereâs hope for the two of them. Wade still canât see that Peterâs guilt is bigger than anything else in his life.
Peter is going to ruin this. Heâs going to deform the malleability of something that started years ago when Peter knew nothing but death.
Maybe, simply, Peter is not meant for anything more than that.
Maybe Wade is just wasting his time, and the softness between them was never meant to go anywhere but here, to this moment, where Spider-Man decimates it.
The thought of how much this is going to hurt fills him up to the tips of his ears.
