âHey⌠plz stop comparing abortion to the Holocaust⌠I canât say theyâre not both equally legally sanctioned immoral situations⌠but Iâm pro-choice and it hurts my feelings that youâre implying Iâm the same as a Naziâ
consider:
âHey⌠plz stop saying youâd support any woman who wants an abortion, even if it had been my mom and I had been the fetus⌠it hurts my feelings that youâre implying I was worthless and disposableâ
Yeah, except itâs a little less âyour false equivalencies hurt my feelingsâ and a whole lot more âitâs extremely fucked up to talk over holocaust survivors and decide that their experiences, pain, and suffering are equivalent to the nonexistent pain and suffering of a fetus.âÂ
Hereâs the thing - if you canât manage to make abortion seem as âhorrificâ as you want people to believe it is without going out of your way to compare it to one of the most horrific events in history - it probably isnât actually nearly that fucking bad.
This user supports the âheartbeat billâ.
^
That user supports a bill based on utter nonsense and drivel that will not lessen the amount of abortions, just spread them out from the state.
That user literally, deliberately supports a bill that will result in nothing but the deaths of people who need abortions.
How pro-âlife.â
If abortion only affects a womanâs body, the government has no place regulating it (although abortion facilities should still be subject to health standards, thatâs garbage). Since the government does not recognize pre-born humans, these heartbeat bills create bad precedent.
However, as far as biology goes, we know that the pre-born are as human as we and they meet all the criteria for life. Rather than trying to regulate abortion, we should be pushing for the government to define when life begins (no such definition exists in the U.S.) and then extend the same rights to all people.
Change hearts first, then change the laws.
Whether you consider a fetus alive or not (it is,) human or not (it is,) or a person or not (this one is debatable), it literally, already, currently, has the same rights as all other people.
No one has rights over another personâs body. Not even in a life or death situation. This right should never be extended to anyone, not even fetuses.Â
Whenever some eugenicist pro-choicer starts talking about how the world is overpopulated and/or consciousness is an illusion anyway I want to say, âWell, youâre free to kill yourself then.â
But I donât say that, because I donât actually want you to kill yourself. I donât want anyone to kill themselves. We are all going to die soon enough. Life is so fleeting, so precious, and you donât make it better by making it shorter. You matter. Extend that same respect to other people.
Abortion doesnât need to be a safe, legal, accessible choice because of overpopulation.Â
If anyone wants to use abortion as a means to solve overpopulation, they would not be pro-choice, because in this scenario abortion would have to be mandatory.Â

Hi friends! Itâs that time of year again!
Yes, youâve got that right - the annual Aunt Flo & Friends menstrual product drive is up, running, and accepting donations from now until June 15, 2018!Â
Most people who use any sort of menstrual product have been caught in the undesirable situation where youâre having an emergency but donât have any on you. Now - think about that rare panic and imagine not ever knowing when the next time you will have a pad, tampon, clean underwear, or otherwise in your hands.
Aunt Flo & Friends provides menstrual products, one of the most commonly overlooked items in donations, to homeless shelters around central Ohio.Â
Facebook page:Â https://www.facebook.com/auntfloandfriends
Amazon Wishlist:Â https://smile.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/63M9L3F1JS14?sa-no-redirect=1
Any donation, small or large, helps and is greatly appreciated! Even if you donât have the means to donate right now, please help spread the word!Â
Banning abortion endangers pregnant peopleâs heath!
All banning legal abortion does is force people to turn to unsafe means performed at unqualified hands.
Anti-abortion violence in the US is disgustingly common.
There have been attempted murders, actual murders, kidnappings, poisonings, assaults, arsons, bombings, threats, and vandalism performed by the pro-life side. This is on top of the daily harassment, manipulation, and usage of gore in their movement.
In fact, the daily vitriol of the pro-life side obviously influences the more extreme violence against pro-choice doctors, nurses, staff, and supporters!
The truth is that it doesnât matter what words you use. Abortion is wrong.
While this is an extremely convincing argument, your personal opinion and personal morals do not determine right and wrong.
Itâs wrong to kill people in the name of being âpro-lifeâ by restricting safe abortion access.

Consent to sex is not consent to nine months of pregnancy and childbirth.
This might be an unpopular opinion but abortion does not completely solve the problems it claims to be solving. One of the foundational arguments for encouraging a woman to have an abortion is that it is giving her the power the and the freedom to choose. However that âpowerâ and âfreedomâ is being taken at the expense of a life.
One time I was in a public health class and we started talking about the different gender dynamics in different societies. Even in our society, a woman may be raped or even just coerced by her husband to have sex and then a baby comes in the process. However what is the proposed solution? More abortionsâŚ. however that does not address the warped gender dynamic.Â
Having an abortion does not get back at the rapist or the husband/partner who canât take no. Rather the abortion happens and the perpetrator is left free. Some people may argue that it is the first step and then justice will be served but at what cost. Why does a life have to be taken?
You also cannot tell me that going to other countries and giving them access to abortions is suddenly going to solve their problems. You cannot go on and tell the woman living in a society where she is not allowed to go to school or where her job prospects are limited or where her country is suffering under a famine or a drought that everything is going to be âa-okayâ if she just had an abortion. Having an abortion may give her one less mouth to feed but her situation is about the same when her child was not even conceived.
If you want less abortions, give women the power to defend themselves. Give men and women advice as to how to plan their sex life and how to listen to one another. Give woman the power to rise to higher levels (especially educational) in their life where they are able to make things better for those around them and for their children. Advise women to always take precaution when engaging in sex and to always remind them that pregnancy is always a risk, though it is also a blessing. Contribute to medical research aimed towards making the delivery process better and to help doctors communicate effectively with their female patients. Stop giving them a crutch without accountability.Â
Abortion does not solve the problem. Rather it gives the problem more power.Â
This might be an unpopular opinion but abortion does not completely solve the problems it claims to be solving. The ONLY problem abortion âclaimsâ to solve is being pregnant when you donât want to be (or canât be for health related reasons). If the abortion is successful, abortion solves this problem.
Even in our society, a woman may be raped or even just coerced by her husband to have sex and then a baby comes in the process. However what is the proposed solution? More abortionsâŚ. There isnât a proposed solution in regards to pregnancy from rape. Some people who are pregnant from such circumstances want to continue their pregnancy and raise the child. Thatâs their solution. Some people want to continue the pregnancy and give the child up for adoption. Thatâs their solution. Some people donât want to be pregnant with their rapistâs child. In that case, abortion is their solution.Â
Having an abortion does not get back at the rapist or the husband/partner who canât take no. Iâm gonna let you in on a little secret. Abortion isnât about punishment. Itâs about not fucking being pregnant.
Rather the abortion happens and the perpetrator is left free. What is your point? Does forcing someone to have their rapistâs baby automatically send their rapist to jail, unlike abortion? No, it does not. The fate of a rapist has literally nothing to do with whether or not they produced a child.
Why does a life have to be taken? Can you please inform me of any other way to end an unwanted or unsafe pregnancy?
You also cannot tell me that going to other countries and giving them access to abortions is suddenly going to solve their problems. If the problem is that people in these countries are dying from unsafe abortions and these countries have extremely high maternal mortality rates... then yes, safe, accessible abortion (alongside other reproductive healthcare that is generally neglected in places where abortion is illegal) is the solution.Â
You cannot go on and tell the woman living in a society where she is not allowed to go to school or where her job prospects are limited or where her country is suffering under a famine or a drought that everything is going to be âa-okayâ if she just had an abortion. I can guarantee that literally no one has ever told you that abortion is the solution to drought. Youâre talking out of your ass.
If you want less abortions, give women the power to defend themselves. ????????????? defend themselves from what exactly???????????
Give woman the power to rise to higher levels (especially educational) in their life where they are able to make things better for those around them and for their children. Advise women to always take precaution when engaging in sex and to always remind them that pregnancy is always a risk, though it is also a blessing. Contribute to medical research aimed towards making the delivery process better and to help doctors communicate effectively with their female patients. You can do every single one of these things and abortion will still be necessary (especially considering half of them have... nothing to do with abortion?). Sex education and access to birth control are proven to reduce abortion rates, but you canât just say âwarn people about the potential risks that come with sex!â and think that will erase the need for any abortion ever. We consistently warn people about the risk of contracting STIs, but for some reason I donât see anyone saying STI treatment shouldnât be available to the people who do contract them.Â
Stop giving them a crutch without accountability. This is such a disgusting way to look at pregnant people and abortion. Abortion isnât a âcrutch.â Itâs the cast. As for accountability? You really donât think pregnant people arenât held accountable for their pregnancies? You think people who seek abortions arenât shamed every single day for their choice?Â
