The quote is a somewhat nihilist quote from Nate about how nobody will remember your accomplishments after you die / the accomplishments don't matter in the long run or something along those lines.

I want to say it's from an interview he gave after surpassing an Avalanche record, but I couldn't find it when looking up the times when he beat/tied Forsberg / Sakic / Stastny, so I may have been mistaken.

i don’t know the source off the top of my head, but this really rings a bell. the closest i could find with only a couple minutes to spare was this from his 1000th point milestone. he’s generally very humble and nonchalant about his milestones, so it could’ve been almost any of them.

maybe you don't deserve fandom content or community, maybe you deserve corporate slop and the burning itch to see something made by passionate artists instead of carefully curated marketing decisions made in a boardroom, but no means by which to scratch it.
