Though getting information from New York on British troop movements and other plans was critical to General George Washington, commander of the Continental Army, there was simply no reliable intelligence network that existed on the Patriot side at that time. That changed in 1778, when a young cavalry officer named Benjamin Tallmadge established a small group of trustworthy men and women from his hometown of Setauket, Long Island. Known as the Culper Spy Ring, Tallmadge’s homegrown network would become the most effective of any intelligence-gathering operation on either side during the Revolutionary War.

This was the first time Tallmadge has returned to Setauket since when he was there last time back in 1777. Since the war has recently ended, and won by the Americans, Tallmadge was welcomed by the now Americans of the town. He returned in his Continental Army uniform. He could not believe that the people… well, most of them… missed him a lot. He decided to visit one of his childhood friends, and a member of the Culper Ring– Anna.

My good friend Julie has a very sick kitty at the moment. She’s trying to raise money to pay for Gaia’s medical bills. She’s a full-time art student and paying thousands of dollars in vet bills is virtually impossible for her at this moment. Gaia is an incredibly sweet cat who I’ve known for a few years now and I know how much Julie treasures her as a companion and a friend.

Gaia has already been on some medication for a week or two but her condition isn’t getting any better. The vet suspects that not only does she have an internal infection / pancreatitis, but she also may have a tumour. He wants to do an ultrasound to find out the other cause of her illness and then hopefully, we can go from there and get her well again. Gaia is currently at the vet right now being kept at the clinic because she is so deathly ill. She has no internet in eating or drinking and has been throwing up a lot.

Gaia is a very charming little cat. She has tiny little legs and a quiet little meow. She loves crunchy foods - Her favourites being bits of toast, crackers and even cheetohs. She also has a recently adopted little sister named Rupee who you can see below.

Benjamin Tallmadge: Lafayette is coming to visit?

Our cat, Missy, went missing the 17th of July and returned to us on the 21st of July, in a great deal of pain. 

We believe she was struck by a car and left to die. 

Missy returned to us with a broken hip and was malnourished. 

We simply cannot afford her vet bills, because of her broken hip, she will have to have anaesthesia, surgery and after care. 

Our goal is £500, if we surpass that, we would like to give to a cat charity. 

Missy was my Grandfathers gift to us when he passed and I would never ask for help under any other circumstance.
