blehhh hi here's the abandoned part three of the writing bits i wanted to do for my au. i uhhh didn't get to the actual exposition-ey parts LOL but ummm anne perspective is fun. shrug
Darkrai's treatment was, admittedly, rather sloppy. They only knew the bare minimum when it came to healing. It's also not often they tend to physical wounds; most wounded they deal with are ones afflicted by their own abilities, and therefore not physically in immediate danger. When it came to physical injuries, well... usually their only patient was themself.
Though. Well. This patient is themself, in a way.
They still aren't over how strange it is to see a face identical to theirs. It's just not something most beings of their status are used to.
They've always been aware of the existence of realities beyond their own, and the possibility of other versions of themself to be out there. But they'd never thought they'd witness interdimensional travel first-hand like this.
And, yes, that's certainly what this is. Interdimensional travel. Not time travel, absolutely not. They refuse to even entertain the possibility, so it must be interdimensional.
Though... they're fairly distanced from the few that are capable of interdimensional travel, and none of them would ever want to bring another curse like themself here, would they? Just one of themself is terrible enough as-is.
They hope Cresselia can help them figure it all out, but for now, they have to wait for the other to awaken.
It had been a chore to travel the short distance back to Newmoon Island. Their... other self, for the lack of a better title, kept squirming about in the throes of a nightmare. It's a sight they're far too used to seeing, but to see it on their own face makes them wonder if this is what they themself look like, too, every time they sleep...
Anyways. The attempted usage of Dark Void from the other confirmed to them many things. One, this is definitely not an illusion. Two, the other has no qualms about attacking them and should absolutely be handled with caution. Three, the other is in such a frail state that merely attempting to use one attack had used up almost all of his remaining energy.
They do wonder just what had happened to leave him in such a sorry state. If he's anything like themself, he should be significantly more resilient than most beings. Perhaps an attack from one of their own could be the culprit?
Hmm. Seems the most likely, and the "why" of that is easy enough to suss out if those rambles about "plunging the world into darkness" were any indicator of his intentions.
Normally they'd stand by the decision of another of their status, but... the guy's in a state right now, alright? They've never liked seeing anybody in distress, regardless of how unlikeable they may be.
Apologies to whomever deemed him necessary to eliminate, but they've come to believe even the most rotten deserve fair treatment.
Cresselia's attitude has definitely rubbed off on them with that line of thinking.
