hx anon again: he at least got a real apology from sqx and even got sqx to call him by his real name, but it wasn't enough for him, he wanted something from swd too. by the end of that confrontation his entire focus was on swd and in ignoring sqx he paid the price of hearing sqx say the wrong name again out of desperation to save swd. beefleaf spent their last moments together caring far more about swd than about each other, torn apart by the person who brought them together in the first place.

ever consider how hx just killed his way through all the townspeople who wronged him without caring if they were sorry or not, but he kept postponing swd's death while staging an entire dog and pony show to try to get swd to show some genuine remorse? he left himself vulnerable to swd's psychological attacks because he wanted swd to care, even just a little, about himself and his family. and he never got that closure, so he can't move on.

Imagine HC/HX had a relationship pre 3rd ascension, something like fwb but they caught feelings somewhere in there, and the canon happens, but HC finds out that the fantasy he had of XL isn’t what he thought would be and they part ways (as friends or not I leave up to your imagination) and HC goes back to HX, but after HC left what they were to be with XL, the fragile tiny thing inside HX that thought that maybe he’d be enough that maybe HC would choose him broke, and 1/2

us knowing nothing ab how qi rong died,,, i know hua cheng said he started eating ppl to mimic hx but what if he didnt? so humor me and imagine qi rong trapped with nothing to eat but human flesh, only prolonging his inevitable death via starvation and convincing himself how good it tastes in order to stomach it.
