You post about your movie-verse AU a lot, which is cool! But now Iām curious-
What was your initial reaction to the Lego Ninjago Movie? Did you like it? Hate it? Somewhere in between?
I was like in 5th grade(ish I canāt remember exactly and Iām too lazy to do the math) when it came out so I was all over it. Of course when I rejoined the fandom after a several year hiatus I wasā¦ well about as critical of the movie as the stereotype of a Ninjago poser gets-
Honestly I gotta give credit to my friend @kittydemon9000 and their fic āSame People, But Not Reallyā for really getting me into the movieverse and seeing it in a new light (plus their Discord server is what connected me to who are now my two closest friends in the world!). Nowadays I hold the opinion that, as an adaptation the movie obviously fails in a comical number of ways, but viewing it through the lens of an offical high school AU and just having fun with it because, for all the critiques I have for some of the writing choices, itās a good time! Plus like every Lego movie the humor is top-notch.
Of course I also obviously appreciate TLNM as a sandbox to explore different ideas with characters within this more urban setting. One philosophy I really like is each and every one of the counterparts stem from the same core traits but they manifest differently from their life circumstances, some more than others.

Iāve got some more unsolicited movieverse headcanons.
One of the really fun thinks me and Imp like to brainrot about is the differences in how elements manifest in the showverse vs the movieverse. Some such example is the element of Earth, which is usually utilized as pillars of rock, boulders, etc. in the showverse, while in the movieverse itās a lot more focused on shockwaves and earthquakes. That part is actually just analysis from the actual canon source material, but one thing we drew from that is show!Earth being focused more in the hands and arms while movie!Earth is focused in the feet and legs.
Also changing Earthās animal symbol from a gorilla to a bull as a reflection of these differences (plus giving the movie!ninja different animal symbols is really fun).
Most unrealistic part of Crystallized is the idea that Pixal couldnāt just make a giant industrial freezer right there in the Samurai X cave within the hour after Nya was frozen.

I hate that the hypothetical of Misako and Koko meeting is so often just used to unjustly shit on Misako because legitimately I find their potential dynamic to be so interesting.
Both have reasons to be jealous of the other. Misako jealous of the fact Koko didnāt have a prophecy to deal with and could settle down to raise her son in peace, something Misako wouldāve given anything to be able to do. On the other hand Koko might be jealous of the fact Misako isnāt held down by the label of āGarmadonās (ex-)wifeā. Sure she deals with her own BS from The Explorerās Club but people arenāt out here harassing her and her Lloyd at every opportunity because of their connection to Garmadon.
Theyāve both faced their own hardships, both made choice that hurt the person they care about most (Lloyd). And I think they would really bond over their shared experiences.

As much as I understand why this was cut from S8 I mourn what couldāve been SO MUCH-
Honestly I wish they had kept Mr. E alive and like, revealed him as Echo at the very end of the season to leave him as a Chekovās Gun for later.
Shoutout to Disneyās Descendants for having the most vibes based worldbuilding Iāve ever seen in my life. Legitimately thinking about any of it for more than two seconds makes everything crumble apart logistically and I think thereās an art in that.
