I'm going to need people to understand that CDDs aren't the only disorders that cause identity disturbance/alteration and people with those other disorders deserve terms that help describe what they experience.

Anti-endo folk are always on about how "endos aren't systems and need to make their own terms!". But when people make terms that are specifically stated that they are NOT system related (polymind, multiself), they get grouped into being "another term for endo systems".

This is what I experienced before I moved to pro-endo spaces. I experienced disordered identity disturbance and needed a term that would describe what I went through and helped me. I knew I wasn't a CDD system and I knew endo systems were "bad" so I found alternative, non-system, terms, polymind and multiself. BUT! Turns out using these terms that were specifically made to be non-system related were "too similar to systems" and were "just as ableist as endos"!

So I decided if this community doesn't accept the experience and terms I use for my disorder, I'm going to the one that does, pro-endos. And when I did start identifying the parts of my identity/self (with or without system terms), it helped with coping and understanding. I felt more grounded and I could more easily manage myself when I knew who I was in that moment.

Some things (in this case, disorders) may be similar, have tools that seem similar, and/or have similar terms, and that's ok! That doesn't mean that one thing is like the other or trying to be like it. Calling people ableist because their disordered experience is too similar to another disorder is ableist in itself.

Falsonagenic

Falsonagenic (or Falsesonagenic) describes a system or headmate that forms due to putting on fake personas constantly.

There are many reasons one may put on fake persona. Reasons may include having to act differently or lie about your beliefs/self at different places or around certain people to stay safe (ex. Saying you’re cishet around homophobic classmates, having a way you act at school versus home).

All Knowing Alter

An All Knowing Alter is an alter that seems to know everything about the system. This alter has little to no memory barriers with other members. They hold all or most information on memories (good, traumatic, bad, etc.), who’s in the system and what they’re like (likes/dislikes, personality, etc.), system information, academic information, and anything anyone else in the system knows.

This term is different to most memory holding roles as for the All Knowing don’t intentionally hold memories to protect others in the system, they just happen to know all information. Weather or not they gatekeep or share information is up to the individual.

All Knowing Alters may not know *everything* about everyone, but hold more memories/information than everyone else. Because of the lack of barriers between them and members, they may function as a singletsona.

Examples:

Alter A is All Knowing.

Alter B does not know about Alter C, and vice versa, but Alter A may know about them both and information about them.

Alter B holds traumatic memories and Alter C holds embarrassing ones. Alter C cannot recall the traumatic memories, and Alter B cannot recall embarrassing ones. Alter A may recall both traumatic and embarrassing memories.

Alter B does not know how they formed but Alter A may.

Alter B fronted during a beach trip and Alter C fronted during a store trip. Alter B and C do not know about each others’ trips or what happened, but Alter A may know.

If a similar term exists, I didn’t know and this is not a recoin. Take this as an alternate term.

Trauma Blocker Flag — Flag by us, term is not

A trauma blocker is a role that describes a headmate that blocks traumatic memories from being remembered while fronting. The member is still affected by the trauma but cannot remember the events.

The dark cool colors represent the trauma. The muted warm colors represent still being affected by the trauma. The light colors on the diamond represent not remembering/being able to recall the events.
