Excerpt:

“That’s good, ya should be. Don’t imagine that was a walk in the park, that’s for sure.” Builderman said. Before Elliot got a chance to reply, though, he kept talking. “Have ya talked to 007n7 yet?”

Elliot didn’t want to talk about this. Elliot didn’t want to think about 007n7, because he didn’t want to think about their last conversation.

Builderman looked at him, scrutinizing.

“... I guess if yer sure about this. I don’t think you of all people would be comin’ to bat for him if ya didn’t have strong feelin’s about it.”

Elliot nodded, firm. “I’m sure. It’s just the right thing to do…”

Builderman let out a short laugh in return and set a hand on Elliot’s shoulder as he started to walk away. “Yer a kind guy, Elliot. Keep it up.”

That only made Elliot feel worse.

Excerpt:

007n7 caught sight of him immediately, and froze next to the generator. The two locked eyes for a second, but it was quickly broken by Elliot suddenly feeling a horrid slash hit his side. He stumbled, turning to keep running away from here. For another second, he glanced towards 007n7.

A small part of him, his pride, didn’t even want to hope he’d help. However, it was nearly entirely drowned out by Elliot’s desperation to live. He looked at 007n7 as if to beg him to do something, anything.

I didn’t have time to make a relevant doodle today (very busy easter schedule, for once!) so you get my backup. This chapter is also a little shorter… but the last one was rlly long so i think thats fair

Excerpt:

Elliot needs to get his attention. “Hey.” He snaps, trying his best not to be too loud while still being heard.

007n7 doesn’t seem to notice. Elliot’s inclined to raise his voice, but he doesn’t want to shout. He walks a little closer instead.

“Hey. Earth to 007n7?” 007n7 jolts, turning around immediately this time. Took him long enough.

This is the first time he’s gotten a good look at 007n7 since… well, since he yelled at him. He looks awful, more awful than usual, and Elliot can tell it’s not just because he’s injured. The sight conjures a complicated mix of emotions that he chooses not to think about.

His gaze fell back to 007n7 quickly. Elliot watched him for a moment before speaking. “Hey, you’re doing it wrong.” He said, purely to be provocative, because if 007n7 was going to get to annoy him then Elliot wanted to annoy him back.

007n7 huffed, but it was hardly out of annoyance. It sounded more fond than anything. “How could I possibly be doing it wrong, it’s cleaning a table.”

“Well clearly you’re incompetent then.” Elliot doesn’t get to act like this with other people, but he knows 007n7 will get the joke. The many layers of it, not the least of which being how different this is from how he talks normally
