☕︎ ——— Nova was exhausted, but she was doing her best to not appear so; she was used to how heavy her body felt as she smiled wide at the two Hellborn kids marveling at her last trick. "You two go off and be safe now, okay? I need to get paid for this, too, you know," she said playfully, ruffling the fur atop the Hellhound's head. He giggled while the Imp beside him whined for one more trick, prompting her to shake her head, "not this time, really, guys. I gotta eat too, you know." That seemed to be enough for the Impling, who still whined while the two agreed and his Hellhound friend pulled him away. They were regular enough visitors to this little spot of hers, so she probably should have learned their names by now, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. There was a part of her that was always afraid there'd be a last time she saw them, with how rough Hell could be. She couldn't let herself get too close.
She was still watching them run off when she heard that name. Grey skin paled as she froze in place, not wanting to look at who'd figured her out, but knowing that she had to. Her first thought was that it was one of Verlice's people, but as emerald hues landed on the other, a different kind of recognition hit her. Fear shifted into hesitance, then turned to rage in an instant.
There was only one fucking reason Lucifer God damn Morningstar would know that name. Didn't Michael and Heaven really screw him over? She knew that the audacity was something her great grandfather had in spades, but she still found herself dumbfounded as she glared daggers at her great-uncle for no fault of his own. "He must have really been desperate if he came to you," she hissed, taking a deep breath after to try and calm herself. She knew the blonde hadn't done anything wrong, and she didn't want him thinking her anger was his fault.
"You can call me Nova. Do you have somewhere a little more private to talk? He's not really something I want getting out down here." She had enough of a target on her back as it was. She didn't need pissed off Sinners taking their fates out on her, too.
