I believe that everything is what you make of it. In college, I could never understand why people used ratemyprofessor.com or whatever it’s called. I never did. No matter what anybody else had to say about it, I felt like if I went to class and did my work everything would be fine. And it was, for the most part.
I look at Tumblr as like this secret society of people who are relatively miserable, romanticize depression, and have unrealistic relationship expectations. And that’s what I’ve made it for myself, too. A place of venting, self-loathing, as well as re-blogging the occasional striped T-shirt or cute baby. Tumblr is more than unhealthy for my brain. Like I said, things are what you make them and I could change what I post or re-blog, but what’s the point? There’s not one. Many people have used this community for the good, and it’s really been a cool thing in their life. That’s not what I’ve ever used it for.
I have unfollowed just about everybody, and I have deleted most of my followers.
I did, however, create a page where I write down something that I’m thankful for every single day. I plan to only maintain that page, as I don’t see it necessary to look at anybody else’s blog.
✌🏼️ out.
