i suck at writing anything and have never made a fic request so take this as you will but
request: anything with dorky, geeky, awkward adam and/or reader makes him watch marvel/star wars/dc/etc
cus the notebook movie exists in masters of the universe so star wars/marvel/dc has to? right?
So fun fact you guys He-Man as a franchise was made to rival star wars like it was made as a response so-
You met Adam in middle school. The poor boy didn’t really have many friends due to his constant insistence on Eternia.
You were new and had heard about him, but weren’t bothered by his stories.
When you had first heard them firsthand you had laughed, “You sound like Luke Skywalker.”
Naturally you two awkward little preteens had to sit down and binge them all at a sleepover.
You pointed out all of the similarities between him and Luke No parents, hidden away in space, powerful sword, blonde hair and so on so forth.
You could see the same sparkle in his eye watching Star Wars that you could see when he was discussing Ram Man or Fisto, Adam adored it.
Sure, it wasn’t exactly the same to his home, but seeing something unearthly, seeing Luke have to be the last jedi as he was the last remaining of his line (to his knowledge)… it brought him comfort
Plus it was right down his lane! He had already given his childhood heros kooky names, this guy was a geek before he even had a chance to step foot on Earth.
Of course then as you two grew together, the MCU became wildly popular in middle school, and once again you found yourselves binging movies at your place.
He especially liked Guardians of the Galaxy, again, the comfort of being out of place in the universe appealed to him!
He’d draw hero sonas of both you and him. Like he knows what his power would be but he’d also make up an entire super hero for you. He’d even like tailor it to your personality with the design and the backstory.
His hero sona is He-Man. If that wasn’t obvious.
As you guys hit adulthood, cons man. Adam would cosplay. I’ve discussed in the past how he’d do Halloween and Ren Faires, cons are in that group.
WOULD cosplay as Luke and ask you to cosplay with him.
At this point his feelings would be in full swing so he would be a bit odd if you chose Leia
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 comes out and you give him eternal shit about “golden space boy Adam”
Your first kiss would be at a binge night. Btw. It would be that sightly awkward “staring at you while the movie is on”. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. He’d get better at timing.
I think his favorite series would actually be Dr Who. About a lone alien separated from his people traveling the universe.
He thinks of you as the Rose to his Tenth Doctor.
This also means that when he gets home he already has a nerdy nickname for you.
Also- that sword, in the geek store? Not his first time by far. He and you had frequented other stores so much that the clerks knew your names. He had just never been to that one.
Would have a few Magic the Gathering decks. Its a cascading effect of you can’t be a geek about one thing without being a geek about a million things.
So yeah, he was a geek before he met you but man you catalyzed it.
