If you could make any sort of body you wanted, would you still be recognizable as human

#Ideal form is a telekinetic amorphous cloud#so no?#But if we’re being limited to a body then maybe? Prolly not tho
You can be the cloud

Which OCs?
honestly i think people should describe women as "handsome" more often.
Just remember. There is no such thing as a fake geek girl. There are only fake geek boys. Science fiction was invented by a woman.
Specifically a teenage girl. You know, someone who would be a part of the demographic that some of these boys are violently rejecting.
Isaac Asimov.
yo mary shelley wrote frankenstein in 1818 and isaac asimov was born in 1920 so you kinda get my point
If you want to push it back even further Margaret Cavendish, the duchess of Newcastle (1623-1673) wrote The Blazing World in 1666, about a young woman who discovers a Utopian world that can only be accessed via the North Pole - oft credited as one of the first scifi novels
Women have always been at the forefront of literature, the first novel (what we would consider a novel in modern terms) was written by a woman (Lady Muraskai’s the Tale of Genji in the early 1000s) take your snide “Isaac Asimov” reblogs and stick it
even in terms of male scifi authors, asimov was predated by Jules Verne, HG Wells, George Orwell, you could have even cited Poe or Jonathan Swift has a case but Asimov?
PbbBFFTTBBBTBTTBBTBTTT so desperate to discredit the idea of Mary Shelly as the mother of modern science fiction you didn’t even do a frickin google search For Shame
And if you want to go back even further, the first named, identified author in history was Enheduanna of Akkad, a Sumerian high priestess.
Kinda funny, considering this Isaac Asimov quote on the subject:
Mary Shelley was the first to make use of a new finding of science which she advanced further to a logical extreme, and it is that which makes Frankenstein the first true science fiction story.
Even Isaac Asimov ain’t having none of your shit, not even posthumously.
You know what else was invented by women? Masked vigilantes, the precursor to the modern superhero. Baroness Emma Orczy wrote The Scarlet Pimpernel in 1905. The character would later inspire better known masked vigilantes such as Zorro and Batman.
Got that?
Stick that in your international pipe and smoke it
I have literally been telling people this for over a year.
the first extended prose piece - ie a novel, was not, as many male scholars will shout, Don Quixote (1605) but The Tale of Genji (1008) written by a woman
The first autobiography ever written in English is also attributed to a woman, The Book of Margery Kempe (1430s).
The day may come when I find this post and do not reblog it, but it is not this day.

op deactivated reblogs alas - I love the jokes about Long Live the Black Parade as much as anyone else, but we all know it's art that actually has something to say, right? Art that means different things to different people and allows for a lot of interpretations? We don't just disregard it as a "fetish opera" or - even more insulting to Gerard Way aka a person who is sober (!!!) - something created without thought in a drugged state. Like guys. We know this, right?
if anyone draws me anything ever
im going to stare at it

(sorry to come into ur askbox again but) ARE U INTO XMEN??? saw u posted abt it and I need more Xmen mutualssssss
Hiiii my askbox is totally free!! Come any time
Im trying to get into it! I'm super new but comics do seem very interesting (especially dc stuff, to me at least) I started w/ batman and I enjoyed it a fair amount, but idrk how/in what order I should be reading everything 😭 I kinda just go I'm chronological order and pray for the best
Ohhh funsies!! And I get it - getting into comics can seem very overwhleming BUT good news: Order in comics is FAKE! Absolute anarchy <3
No rlly reading comics in order is mostly impossible or if even possible kinda... boring at some point in my experience lol So I would always start with smth that just looks appealing to u - fuck the context - and then just go from there. Do you want to read more avt the context? Then you can always go back in the timeline. Do you want to know what happens next? Mayve if you are lucky the next run picks up where this comic left of - but a lot of the time it highkey doesnt!! So - anarchy it is haha
Nowwwww I can give u some Batman recommendations if you want :3 For ehich you need no context whatsover btw
Batman and Robin Year One: This one holds a special place in my heart. Gorgeous art, especially the colours. Found family, drama, angst. It gets Dick Grayson and his anger like few other comics do, while still showing how he cares and loves and loves to perform and shine and bring literal light into Batman's life. Also we got a few cute moments that touch on his heritage as a Showman, and by extension therefore his Roma heritage.
Batman The Long Halloween: It's a classic for a reason. AND ITS SO FEMINIST. DONT TRUST THE DUDEBROS. THIS COMIC IS ABT TOXIC MASCULINITY AND THE "AMERICAN WORK ETHIC" AND HOW IT DESTROIS THE PSYCHE OF BOTH MEN AND WOMEN BUT HOW IN THE END ESPECIALLY THE MOTHERS AND WIFES HAVE TO SUFFER AND ITS SO GOOD AND RAHHHH. the art is also peak (if you ignore how everyone is build super duper sexy lol)
Batman and Superman Worlds Finest: It's fun, it's pg12, it's really cute. Also the Doom Patrol (aka the silluest fucker in the universe) make an apperance! And also a lot of Superbat shipping material lol.
And now, I dont know if I can recommend the next comic bc well - I really like it but it is also insanely xenophobic, especially islamophobic :') It's Batman and Robin (2009) by Grant Morrison and while I regularly rlly enjoy their work they did do a number on Talia in here so..... eh. But ut has such an interesting dynamic between Dick and Damian and Dicks struggle with his fathers legacy, Batman's cowl and his own identity and urghhhhh its just so good (except when it sucks ass)
Okay and for the end - if I can recommend any Xmen stuff real quick its the 2000 movie bc its PEAK (Magneto my incredibly problematic babygurl I love you etc etc) and then probably Claremonts run bc its insanely political for the time and honestly kinda unhingend haha
