Blended fibre off my hackle for the first time and got the perfect colour to ply with the my hand dyed cormo braid. It’s a lot greener irl. Fibre is mostly merino with 5g of rose fibre, and some degree of cat hair because my cats got in a fight earlier and my shirt got covered in fluff when I separated them.

However.

Also got a lot of hackle waste.

I think I’m just going to spin it anyway. It’s from combed top, so the fibres are still mostly aligned. As long as I spin it first, most of the waste won’t end up in the final plied yarn.

I have two main goals: spin every day, and finish my treadle wheel WIP.

I have a few stretch goals, for which I earn a little treat (<$10) for completing. These are spinning at least 200g, combing wool for the first time and spinning it, and trying a new breed/fibre. That last one can be earned multiple times, but not for the same project. I'm actually very bad at rewarding myself, so I have a little list of things to pick from (Twix bars, fancy donut, fav panini).

I have a list of 6 projects to work on, so I'm not floundering on what to work on next, but there's no pressure to finish anything except the ongoing WIP.

That means the espinner is totally freed up for TDF!

Made a Tour de Fleece calendar! Graphic design is not my passion, but feel free to use it. I would've liked to have more space to write in each box, but, uh. I don't know how to do that. I'm probably just going to put stickers on the days I spin.

Guys. Spindle spinning takes so long. I need to lock in.

Aside from my ongoing treadle wheel project, I’m probably going to use my espinner exclusively for Tour de Fleece. Yes, I found the cross spindle extremely valuable last year for getting in just a couple minutes of spinning to check off the day, but. Ultimately I don’t want to spin a large quantity on a spindle and I’m not interested in spinning small quantities (<100g).

I somehow managed to bruise both sides of my arm??? I think I hit the pallet that broke my fall with one side and the box I was trying to get down fell on the other.

This gave me trouble, but it’s done. Just needs wet finishing.

This was three 50g batts of BFL/alpaca blend that I got from the fibre festival in March. The first batt went great, not a lot of problems though definitely some VM. The second two batts were FULL of nepps and second cuts. And VM.
