barty-jrouchâ:
On the outside, Minister Bagnold canât look too bothered with the recent allegations that came out against her. Sheâs not the first Minister to receive slander during her term and she wouldnât be the last. To be thought of as a veela isnât one of the worst things in the world, she even joked once.
But behind closed doors⌠Boy, was it one gigantic clusterfuck. Did that mean they couldnât return to business as usual? No, of course not. In fact, thereâll be a fire under their asses if Bagnold catches them doing anything other than their job.Â
Barty had just picked up the second batch of documents that he was supposed to send out when the Head of the DMLE stopped him in his tracks. She was someone whom Barty definitely had to stop for, but that didnât stop him from reacting as he did. âWould you prefer to leave it with me? Iâm afraid that Minister Bagnoldâs currently preoccupied.â
A part of Amelia wondered just what had the Minister preoccupied. Members of the Wizengamot? Reporters? An existential crisis? Merlin, she couldnât imagine. Amelia was rather certain Head of the DMLE was as far as she wanted to climb up the hierarchy. Not that anyone could accuse her of being a Veela; even falsely, it just didnât stand up to scrutiny. But even a workaholic such as herself had a threshold on stress.
âIâm sure she is,â Amelia replied, producing the folder from underneath her arm. She debated asking Barty what had her busy but let that thought slip away. Barty didnât strike her as a gossip, but even so â not her business. âHere,â she said, offering the folder. âI trust you can get this to her quickly and securely? My doorâs open if you need something else from me about this.â
