I directly worship 8 Greek deities at the moment. I'll list them off and how I connected with them.
Dionysus - One of the first deities I ever worked with when I was a lot younger, I felt drawn to the celebration of the unique and strange, as well as the encouragement to be yourself. I stopped worshipping him for a few years when I got older and drank less, as I worried somehow that wouldn't be honouring him but as I got older I realized that I don't need to engage in EVERY facet to have that connection.
Apollon - I've always been drawn to divination, music and the arts, so this one was only a matter of time. Though, funny anecdote, when I first reached out the responses I got through multiple forms of divination essentially were 'practice more, then we'll talk'. I did, and now he's definitely one of the strongest connections I have. I sing a LOT day to day, and often use that as a devotional act to him.
Hermes - Freedom is something I value highly, as well as communication and mischief. All of which Hermes has a hand in. He's always been a very supportive deity during struggles and VERY active in problem solving. I've prayed to him twice during issues with travel and sending an important parcel and both times those situations were miraculously solved (and I made sure to give offerings in thanks).
Gaia - I've always felt a strong connection with the Earth, honestly if I lived in a safer area then I'd be out almost daily to just wander around the various parks that we have around here. Gaia is one of the less active deities in regards to communication but her presence is felt, always there to listen and bring a sense of comfort.
Athena - My newest addition. Very rarely do I feel like deities are giving me nudges, it's like having someone staring at you across the room and you can FEEL it even if you can't see it. I don't have a super strong connection with her yet but something tells me that she's here to drive me forwards and make good decisions. Judgemental, but in a good way.
Asclepius - Yet another quiet one, he's a calming presence that showed up not long after Apollon, we both share a mutual love for humanity at large and a want to improve the world and the lives of those around us.
Zeus - Repeated and very vivid dreams, where usually my dreams are not so solid, that only went away once I added him to my altar area. I'm not yet sure why he's present so much, but given he's a protector and father, I wonder if he knows I lack that in my life and thus, here he is!
Hestia - During worship within a home it's customary to give an offering to her to thank her for the hearth and home to be able to do such things. After learning of her, I started adding that into my worship and she's been present since. She's kind, motherly and warm, always offering gentle advice and a listening ear rather than telling it bluntly as some might (coughapolloncough).
I would like to believe you get the energy you give out, not so much as a steadfast rule but I guess something similar to karma. I avoid things such a curses unless you've fucked up so hard that it becomes justice to make your life harder.
