I finally got to have my own gorgeous figurines of Atem and Magician's Valkyria🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

I went to Yokohama and Akihabara, Japan in late April to both attend TVXQ concerts at Nissan Stadium and hunt for some Yugioh merch. The Atem figurine was definitely one of my targets. I was THRILLLLLLLED as soon as I found one at an otaku shop located in the metropolitan area of Yokohama🥹🥹 The Valkyria one wasn't on my list and my travel budget had nearly been drained on the last day of my trip, then a secondhand unopened one was in stock at Traders in Akihabara!🥹🥹🥹🥹

Now they're enshrined in an acrylic case at home😘

I also got some awesome new cards that were fresh out of the newest booster pack series featuring some overframe cards😍

Because of their cool design and rarity, some overframe cards are ridiculously expensive😭 So I only got to buy four of them, even though they were definitely on my shopping list. The Dragoon and the Dark Magician I got were priced around 6,000 and 4,000 Yen per card, respectively, at different trading card shops. I was willing to pay cuz I'd wanted them so badly😭😭

But these MFs had such BS prices I didn't even bother to try💀

Just look at the price tag💀💀 Do pieces of paper really need to be this pricy💀💀💀💀??? I'd rather buy a brand-new smartphone or a home appliance💀💀💀💀

This isn't technically for celebrating the 10th anniversary of the DSOD, but still intends to carry the vibe. This february, I got myself a pair of official acrylic standees of Atem and Kaiba. They gave me a churning inspiration for this work. The way they were facing the same general direction...🥹 it looked like they were confronting opponent(s) together as a team.

Social media and blogs are being plagued with soulless bots and so-called 'premium accounts'. Selfish people behind the accs are only smart enough to care about raking in easy money, but not smart enough to care about what impact their actions can actually bring about to the social media community and the society as a whole.

This game takes addictiveness to a whole other level💀

Pokopia has even made me ditch my cellphone entirely to grab onto my switch 2 for the last two weeks. That's just how addictive it is.

The coolest stuff about this game is it allows you to build the entire community (communities actually, cuz you gotta manage five seperate towns) for your favorite pokemon. Some people have gone full-blown on architecture stuff like minecraft fans do. I'm not even remotely close to that lofty level but I've already set my ambitious goal to build an entire Domino City from scratch someday😂

Aside from infrastructure, bonding with the pokemon residents is also a crucial part of the game. Once the tutorial part was done I dashed to Pallete Town to bring my ultimate fav pokemon Rowlet to my house🥹❤️

Imagine what life would be like and what society would be like if, in real life, you opened your eyes to wake up to the sight of your favorite pokemon sleeping beside you every morning.......🥹❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷

Icing on the cake: the selfies you take with pokemon using the in-game camera are randomly displayed on the title screen, reminding you every single time of all the endearing memories you've shared with the pokemon folks. The way Pokopia exploits people's innate desire for connection and bonding......😭😭

I'm finally an official resident of Pokopia🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

Sunday midnight thoughts on Atem's appearance in the BBT...

It got me breathless when the movie posters and trailers were out in late 2009. At the time, my heart had never moved on from the painful void the shape of him ever since he left this world in 2004 at the end of the show and the manga. I knew the movie was partially just set up in the past where he was still around. It didn't change the brutal fact that he's dead for good anyway🥲 Despite all such depressing and disillusioning intrusive thoughts, his majestic presence in all the teasers, and ultimately the film itself, felt like a shower of carbonated nectar in years of decimating droughts☔️ The bone-chillingly refreshing rainwater managed to fill the void at least temporarily.
