The black geek community is a ridiculously underserved market. Even when trying to serve the black community, there is backlash. It's all very silly...and malicious. So, to my black brothers and sisters who share my interests and also like to support, I created stylized magazine shelves featuring the works of black comic book creators. All comics are real, and the cover art is bomb, if I do say so myself.

Perfect for teaching black sim history during February. The last day of Winter isn't just fun and games. It's also a time of learning. If you are not playing a school save, but selling products at your local black sim business? I've got you covered. You have a sim speaking at a conference? I've got you. The signs are recolorable, so they can reflect the mood of whatever atomosphere you are trying to create.

In the spirit of BHM, I created a few book textures. Again, these are real books. [A rant was here, but I moved it to my simblr. If you want to know what it said, the simblr is linked on the homepage.] If you don't want to learn history, at least make your sim pick up a book. Or put it on the table in your game and pretend your sim is educated.

Again, all books are real. I love fantasy, but I absolutely despise the "ethnic fantasy/Afro fantasy" genre. It's just fantasy! Cooking up a fake genre based on nothing but skin color is just another way to separate black people from the masses. It infuriated me the first time I was looking up a fantasy novel by a black author and read the wiki. And to learn that bookstores segregate the books...
If books appealed to me solely based on skin color, I would have had nothing to read as a kid.

The radio bookshelf and functional bookshelf use the same mesh. The bookshelf was the first mesh I worked on during Black History Month. Afterward, I immediately wanted to turn it into a stereo. It's like opening a bottle of medicine. Except the medicine is just repackaged gummy bears :)

Why not now? I have many ideas. I'm crafting so many things at one time. I don't want to be stuck working on the same cc projects. Inspiration comes and goes. Sitting in the same spot while ideas keep flowing is not for me. I always come back to them anyway.
