i don’t think shane would EVER reprimand ilya in front of their friends. there’s no “walking him like a dog” in the ottawa centaurs group. it’s the opposite, ilya is a spoiled little shit. shane only says no to him in the private and it’s rare. he’s an ilya’s enabler. he letting his husband do whatever and it’s not like is the worst cus not only ilya is an adult he’s very thoughtful, intelligent, respectful and professional. he knows there’s limits, he probably put it himself. so yeah fics with that tag is very funny is for hahas and hihis but i don’t think it would ever be canon

Sometimes when Ilya is having a not so great day he sends Shane a dick pic because he knows it will give him a boost of serotonin to see those three dots bounce for an obnoxious amount of time only to get some fuckass response like "Ok" or "You can't send me that without warning" and then Ilya will say "You like?" and Shane will say "Yeah." WITHOUT FAIL. It's their little fucked up version of a kiss on the cheek.

I'll never understand when critics haters of Heated Rivalry call it "heteronormative pandering slop". A story about two buff jocks who both, for the most part, conform to masculine standards falling in love with each other because they are equals in strength and skill at the most manly sport out there is not heterosexual coded. The main point of Heated Rivalry is overcoming the social pressures of acting manly and dealing with internalized homophobia from years of trying to make yourself fit into a very specific box. Shane almost exclusively like to bottom doesn't make him "the girl" in the relationship, he could absolutely body Ilya any time, he just doesn't want to because he has specific sexual desires that he had to come to terms with over almost 10 years. It's giving biphobia and misogyny from considering bottoms "weak girls". You guys are perpetuating homophobia! Just admit you don't understand the story and move on.
