terrible years really make you understand the point of a new year. i know nothing much will have changed between dec 31 and jan 1, but we need to be able to partition off everything thatâs happened to us, we need a moment to say, âthatâs done, weâre done with it, itâs overâ and have a little hope that the future will be different. we need to be able to stop and take a breath and sing, in the middle of winter, and prepare ourselves for spring.
âYears ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal. âA broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery. Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization startsâ, Mead said. We are at our best when we serve others. Be civilized.â

the thing about everything is that it all gets easier with practice, so be careful what you practiceÂ
Mandatory Psych Evaluations For Our Protection.
âMandatory psychology evaluations for anyone entering any field that requires serving and protecting the integrity of our infrastructure, citizens, and Healthcare systems. Meaning any and every politician, police officer, military member, nurse, optometrist, teacher, or librarian even has to get a psychological evaluation.Â
we all deserve as citizens, and human beings, to know and understand every precaution is being taken to ensure our safety. In order to uphold our standard as the leading democracy and symbol of freedom, we must come together to ensure our leadership, our Healthcare system, justice department, and infrastructure as a whole is as healthy as it can possibly be.
From federal government, all the way down to local government, we must demand that we are being overseen properly by those who are meant to protect, serve, educate, heal, and uphold our constitutional rights.â

âMagic has been linked with a system of jural obligations, since in many places there are words and gestures which are binding sanctions. It true that legal actions may often acquire a ritual character and that contracts, oaths and trials by ordeal are to a certain extent sacramental. Nevertheless, the fact remains that although they contain ritual elements they are not magical rites in themselves. If they assume a special kind of efficacy or if they do more than merely establish contractual relations between persons, they cease to be legal actions and do become magical or religious ritesâ
â Marcel Mauss, A General Theory of Magic.
Any investigation of Hathor in this role is closely entwined with the sun god Ra as she is his mother, daughter and partner. Whatever Hathorâs association with Ra it is said that âshe loves Reâ. Hathorâs triple relationship with Ra is a way of expressing the idea that Hathor represents a divine energy and potency which is essential to the life of the sun god. She continually renews him but he also generates the energy needed for creation to survive. One cannot exist without the other.

It is easy, and natural, to ask âwhat is she goddess ofâ as we like to define deities by areas of responsibility or the natural phenomena that they represent. The Egyptians probably didnât think that way. To them the deities were primarily possessors of power which they would use in various ways. The Egyptians would pray to any and every deity about everything but there was a degree of specialization which was expressed using names, appearance, and roles in myths. Major deities have several spheres of interest which overlap but together make up a unique deity.

What a dark and dreary day this is... but it gave me an opportunity to collect quite a lot of energy from the earlier downpour, as well as the most recent one. Even less-than-ideal circumstances can often be put to good use.
The Navajo have a unique tradition. When a baby is born, it is regarded as the ultimate, precious gift and must never be abused. From the moment of birth, the child is watched over continuously by family and friends, who patiently wait for the childâs firstâŚlaugh.
âHas your baby laughed?â is common question posed to parents who have infants around the age of three months. The first laugh of a Navajo child is a very significant event. It marks the childâs final passing from the spirit world to the physical world, meaning he or she is now fully human. This milestone warrants a party, and what a party it is!
Whichever brother, sister, parent, cousin, aunt, uncle, or passing acquaintance is present at the first laugh is deemed to have caused it. Â The laughter instigator then receives the honored privilege of preparing a special ceremony to welcome the child into society.
Once a baby has laughed, training in generosity begins immediatelyâa value held in high regard among the Navajo people. At the party, where the baby is considered the host, the parents or person responsible for the first laugh help hold the babyâs hand as he or she ceremonially gives the rock salt, food, and gifts to each guest. There are also bags of candy, money, and other presents that the child âgivesâ along with the food. [x]

Is this true? lol
Yes it is true. I have had of a few relatives invite me to a Aâwee Chiâdeedloh "The Baby Laughed Ceremony" however I have not had the privilege to actually attended one personally. The Dineâ peoples believe that babies are of âtwo worldsâ (Earth people & Holy people) when they are born. The first laugh signifies the babies desire to become a part of the Earth People so it is a great cause for celebration.
This is beautiful.
This is so pure and good Iâm crying
The Navajo Nation is having a farming renaissance in the era of COVID-19. More residents are turning to traditional agriculture as they're u
Historically Navajos have lived off the land. But decades of assimilation, forced relocation and dependence on federal food distribution programs changed that. Navajo farmer Tyrone Thompson is on a mission to help people return to their roots. He's even taken to social media to teach traditional farming techniques. In a recent video he demonstrates how to layer organic matter to turn dry clay into rich fertile soil. The U.S. Department of Agriculture calls the Navajo Nation a food desert. People travel up to 40 miles to get their groceries. But Thompson says they don't have to. "As we see the shelves emptying of food and toilet paper we kind of reconnect to our roots," Thompson says. "Some of the tools that were given by our elders and our ancestors â our planting stick and our steering sticks â those are our weapons against hunger and poverty and sickness."
