Use It Til You Lose It
âUse it til you lose itâ and its catchphrase buddy âfake it til you make itâ were a surprising fixture during my yoga teacher training last summer.  They donât sound very yogic, but were surprisingly relevant.  Strategies for focusing your mind during meditation, like silently telling yourself âbreathing in, breathing outâ?  Use them, until you donât need them anymore.  How about the practice of pratipaksha bhavana (âWhen disturbed by negative thoughts, opposite (positive) ones should be thought ofâ)?  Classic fake it til you make it.  Come to think of it, a lot of life is encapsulated in these mantras.  Learning something new on the job, trying to overcome a bad habit or harmful thought pattern, creating rituals and discarding when they no longer serve their purpose. Â
Just like this tumblr, in fact: I created a space to explore mindfulness, feminism, and other things I liked. Â And now, I will continue to explore those, off the screen, and share those thoughts with people around me. Â You know where to find me, darlings, if you need to discuss new findings on women in the workplace (those seem to come out almost every week now!), favorite meditation strategies of the moment (short meditation podcasts on the metro!), or recipes (so many recipes, but in love with this one right now).
