the "foreign place" is argentina and the "feeling" was the feeling of being known and successful in volleyball without the intense comparison to others that oikawa was facing back in japan. oikawa was ready to "impress" new people in a new country and he took the opportunity to be recognized for his skill. "Juliet" is volleyball. the "icing on the cake" for him to get away from his hometown was being able to play volleyball with minimal comparison to those he used to be compared to in high school when going pro.

"and I hope you're holdin' hands by new years eve" is iwaizumi's hope for oikawa to become successful in argentina playing volleyball, just like iwaizumi knows oikawa wants to do. "they made it far too easy to believe" that being truly successful at volleyball cant be achieved in the time they're in. "they" is the volleyball world itself and this true success cant be achieved because of the comparisons that oikawa faced against the other great players in the japanese high school bracket, which is why he left japan in the first place.

the rest of this is repetition but the last line, "you are the only ones who know" shows that iwaizumi understands why oikawa left and decided to support him through his choices. he knew it was best for oikawa since oikawa is "the only one who knows" what's best for him and his career.

the "door" is being opened to the new ideas that hinata is introducing him to about teamwork and that he doesn't have to be "the king". "cracked me wide open" looks at how hinata was able to figure out kageyama as a person (specifically the scene of him talking about how he doesn't understand why its such a big deal that kageyama's "the king" after tsukki insults kageyama) and it doesn't sit right with him because no one has been able to do that before which is the cause for the wonder about hinata mentioned in the first line.

this section is about the beginning of their first year and how they originally joined the team. they obviously "don't get on" at the start of their relationship hence their need to get along with one another to officially join karasuno's team. "can't make you laugh" because kageyama doesn't try to but this line is more about hinata not making him laugh at the start since he has no interest in getting along with him. "I don't invest the way I prefer someone to in me" because he's not putting effort into the relationship that's supposed to be forming but he would if this was a relationship he actually wanted.

kageyama's "pride" is him being the king, not necessarily the part of people referring to him as that but his ability to focus on volleyball, not get distracted, and because he thinks that this makes him the best these are all things he believes are being put "on the line" here. This is all put on the line because of hinata "cracking him open" in the first verse. he was able to figure kageyama out and crack his shell, getting him to become a team player and more open in general. kageyama knew he would be "thanking him for his time" because he was able to change kageyama's point of view on volleyball and looking back on it he does because he's happy with the relationships he has with his teamates and his ability to form new relationships without his old title of "the king" following him since he's had a change of heart (thanks to the entirety of karasuno).

when he's alone he's able to see how much hinata has done for him by reflecting on the past ("it's the memory") and see how grateful he is from hinata and everything he's done for him. the "alone" part goes back to self reflection. also it reminds me of the scene of kageyama tossing a volleyball in his bed in his gray sweatshirt. the only reason why that scene is so vivid for me is because hinata wears the same sweatshirt in a scene of him doing the same thing and i see all the edits of it.
