Tue Jan-19: Victoria Falls Waterfront Adventure Village Tents, Livingstone, Zambia
Before leaving for Zambia, we had some free time by the pool at the lodge in Kasane. As I was getting ready to head back inside to pack up, I dropped by camera it broke. I was immediately upset at the thought of breaking my camera on only our third day in Africa. First my lost phone, now a broken camera. When our driver picked us up to transport us to Zambia, Rob explained the situation. He assured us that we were heading to the right place to get it fixed – Livingstone, Zambia.
We were now in Livingstone, Zambia - right across the Zambezi River from Botswana. For the next two nights we’d be living at the Victoria Falls Waterfront Adventure Village Tents. I haven’t slept in a tent since camping as a child. Our tent had two single cots with a fan and a small table between them. The Village itself was great. Everybody hung out at the main building at the bar, the pool or in the restaurant. Unlike Thebe River Safaris in Botswana, Adventure Village had tons of young, hip millennials ─ students and young travelers who had backpacked to Africa for fun and adventure.
We had dropped off the broken camera before arriving at Adventure Village. Now we could settle in by the pool with some cold drinks overlooking the Zambezi River.
