I'm so curious on how many people were in charge of Audrey Two. I can’t find the straight answer on google, and I'm dying to know the exact number.
judging by the pictures there were between 7 and 9. anyway, if anyone knows it, let me know
It actually ranged from around 4 people puppeteering the smallest puppet (Grow For Me) to up to 51 puppeteers for the biggest version (Mean Green Mother)
They would either be somewhere off camera or under the set controlling it via cables, rigs, or levers or inside the head using their entire upper body
Here’s a link to an article interviewing Lyle Conway, the designer for Audrey II, if anyone wants to read more about it
I haven't been here for so long, and, honestly, I thought that people forgot about me and the nonsense that I'm posting here. but come on, it literally made my day!

Hello, this is going to be my longest post ever, so if you don't like reading, just put a like lol Over the past week, I watched 6 adaptations of lsoh. here's my verdict:
1.
Surprisingly this is my favourite production, I literally watched it twice. I just loved everything about it. I'm not a master of writing reviews, but here I don't think I need to try too hard to convey how great it looks. The sets, the costumes, the songs, everything played in a new way but with a sense of some welcome nostalgia. 10/10
2.
Booker T. Washington High SchoolTulsa, OklahomaFebruary 1992
I love school productions, maybe because my school didn't have this at all. This is a very worthy performance, I'm ashamed to admit I expected less from it. Highly recommended if you are fans of school stuff. 9/10
3.
First of all, can someone explain to me why they're called that. I mean, why slime tutorial, it's disgusting, slimes are gross, you guys. but back to the production itself, Seymour's cute, Audrey's cute, Orin's cute. But God, I just pray they bring back the blonde wig. 8/10
4.
I've said before that I like the dynamic between the main actors, they look organic, I think that's the most important thing. 8,5/10
5.
I think the biggest thing that got me here was the stage, I love it when productions try to stray away from the original by doing something new with the scenery. It really looks very thoughtful and new. As for the actors themselves I don't know, I didn't feel anything magical, it was, well, ok, nothing more. It was interesting though, Audrey with the glasses. 7/10
6.
Don't throw stones at me, I know a lot of people love this cast, and considering all the comments on youtube, I think I'm the only person who couldn't handle it. I really had to rewind some scenes, it was so excruciatingly long. I don't know, there's supposed to be something campy about it, but it's basically a mega weird and uncomfortably. 5/10
Ok^ thats all, If you have any favourite productions please share them, it would be interesting to find something new, thanks!!!!
one of the hundreds of reasons i fell in love with miss Greene is how much she gives herself to her work.
it seems like such a small scene, not even a whole song, just a reprise, and even here, instead of lip-syncing, she sings to the fullest. somehow, you as a viewer feel it through the screen, and her authenticity helps you to get even more into the character.
(I like how lost Rick looks here.)

On May 6, 1982, Little Shop of Horrors premiered at the WPA Off-Off Broadway Theatre

to understand my mental state at the moment, I've been listening to Little Shop of Horrors soundtrack for a week now, it's like an addiction, I just can't stop myself.
I'll keep you updated, but just so you know, in 2024, my top song was mushnik and son
I still am
i never talk about the other adaptations except ‘82 and ‘86, but today’s my confession day.
i'm really a huge fan of the new cast. Liz and Milo are super great in the roles of Audrey and Seymour. they bring something new to the table, but you definitely can see how much they cherish the original material (Liz herself has said many times that she is a fan of the musical)
myself usually very skeptical of any changes, but here I think they hit the mark. Milo is more agile and active while Liz is more laid back, they make a perfect tandem.

In almost every Suddenly Seymour, Audrey kisses his hands. i think it has something to do with the fact that to her, Seymour has always been a gentle, soft guy, and his hands are clearly not meant to hurt her. idk just my guess
I haven't posted anything in so long, I think I've lost the ability to write.
I'm a bit in Seymour era right now: I'm having awful job and my boss hates me (haven't found a talking plant yet, but I don't think it's gonna take long).
idk what to post, so there’s a photo of Ellen Greene as Audrey sitting in Audrey’s II jaw.
Little Shop of Audrey is now live!! Go watch it now!!!
my fandom is alive and breathing!
Audrey i love youuuuuu

I've always been a fan of the original ending. like, yeah, the theatrical ending is very satisfying, everyone survived, well almost, but there's something about original that's more in tune with the story. in some ways it's more educational (don't trust mean green plants, u know).
maybe it's because I'm a very emotional person, and I like to cry.
but one thing we can all agreed is that the reprise of Somewhere that's green is so heartbreakingly good, and the fact that after Audrey's death Suddenly Seymour starts playing it's true masterpiece, and it's a shame they needed to cutting it out.
so, anyway, it's too good, you guys just still not ready for it!
photos by Roy Blakey
if only you knew, how much i want this shot with feather cape, i even pick a the perfect spot on the wall, near my desk (˃̣̣̥ᯅ˂̣̣̥)
but anyhow, jokes aside, this was shot somewhere in between ‘76 and ‘78. according to the article that telling the story of After Dark magazine, where Roy Blakey was working at the time, the photos were taken as a promo and possible cover for Ellen's album (which was never released). although one of the photos that was taken at the time was still used for her 2004 album “In His Eyes”.
what I personally like about these photos is that they seem timeless. you can clearly see the 70's style, but still feel some of the glamour of old hollywood.
