I made this one special. 

“Oh? You don’t remember your family either? Hehe, you’re the first one I’ve met who can’t! It’s kind of exciting, in a way.” Micah listened intently to the rest of what the farmer had to say. Because they both didn’t have blood-related families, it felt, rather ironically, like they were kindred spirits of a sort. “You know, I first started keeping monsters because the mayor scolded me for not making enough of a profit for the town. But I think there’s something more, too. I just worry, sometimes, about the fairness of it all…”

“Yeah, he was totally attached to me from the moment he saw me. It seems he was already someone’s pet, so maybe he was excited to see a human again, I suppose.”

"Yeah, I don't remember anything before coming here... And I haven't been here very long." He shrugged, mildly ashamed of the fact. It didn't normally bother him too much, but he'd be lying if he said he didn't care. It was nice that Micah shared the feeling; it made Kyle more comfortable to know he wasn't alone. "The mayor made you take in monsters? Well, I guess he's just looking out for his city, but I hope you find more meaning to them than he does. Monsters are kind of like children, and as parents things aren't always fair. But, hey, maybe they like having a family too?" He shrugged, still feeling bad about the whole situation. He hadn't thought about how fair or unfair the situation was, just that the monsters were his friends. Even if they were forced to be.

"Wouldn't it be kind of cool if he was your pet before you lost your memory? Maybe he's not finding a new human, but coming back home." She shrugged, smiling. "Who knows?"
