Xkuty One - Electric Bike
The new sustainable mobility!
No noise, No fuel, No emissions!
Savings for all.
Lithium is ‘the new gasoline
This is the dawning of the Age of Lithium Lithium is ‘the new gasoline’, it’s impossible to ignore this versatile metal’s potential as a game-changer for the global transportation sector.
EVs account for 25 per cent of annual lithium ion battery production — up from 14 per cent two years earlier — and that’s projected by Deutsche Bank to jump to 38 per cent by 2025.
“Welcome to the Lithium-ion Age,” forecasts demand for EV batteries will increase fivefold over the next decade — and global lithium demand will increase from 181 kilotonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent to 535 kilotonnes by 2025.
Energy cell costs are tumbling as battery producers expand manufacturing capacity — from $900 US per kilowatt-hour in 2010 to $225 today, making it more affordable for consumers to make the switch.
STORAGE ENERGY Lithium Battery
“Electricity storage”
Lithium ion batteries containing 3x the energy of those first batteries. Moreover, costs have collapsed particularly over the last five years during which batteyr pack prices have fallen from $1,300 per kWh in 2011 to below $250/kWh today, noting that General Motors is buying batteries from LG Chem for the all electric Chevy Bolt at an amazingly low price of $147/kWh!
Further technology improvements our coming our way as well as a clear cost roadmap towards $100/kWh by 2020. At these levels, lithium-ion will play a massively important role in our lives.
Let’s not forget the annual market for lead acid batteries (starter motors for combustion engines, backup power, etc) at 350GWh per year is 5x greater than lithium-ion at 70GWh per annum, so the opportunity is enormous!
That all said the real growth opportunity for lithium ion batteries is not the replacement of lead-acid batteries for starter motors in the automobile or even the hybridization of the automobile but instead its full electrification. The Toyota Prius’ battery is 4.4kWh in size as opposed to the Tesla S100D which has a 100kWh battery. That said the average electric vehicle (EV) uses 40kWh and it looks like this year some 700,000 EVs will be sold worldwide this year. That is close to 30GWh of new lithium ion batteries going into EVs this year. And the market for EVs is going to expand quickly. How quickly we do not know but what is clear is that technology advances such as sprinkling silicon on the anode side of the battery will continue to improve the performance of lithium-ion batteries and with a whole range of exciting new EVs coming to the market in the next years it looks like a very bright future ahead for lithium-ion batteries.
Then there is the question of what to do with all those lithium-ion batteries in those automobiles. Some will be immediately recycled but a large proportion will be reused in less stressful evenironments for so called “2nd life applications” such as backup power, buffer storage for EV charging stations and grid balancing. And let's not forget the numbers are truly enormous; some 1m recylced 40kWh batteries would give 40 GWh of energy storage which would be enough storage capacity to supply the UK’s power needs for an hour. And those 1m ex-automobile batteries would supply as much power, for that hour, as all of Europe’s pumped storage capacity put together!
The economic and environmental cost of pollution will drive Beijing’s policies regardless of what Donald Trump does
China has performed an about-turn, not only recognising climate change as a major global challenge but also, ahead of Davos this week, vowing to lead the world’s effort in combating it.

More car-free quaysides, more bike lanes and more green public transit.
Car-Free Streets!
This is a big trend for cities.

Four world cities make radical commitment at C40 Mayors Summit in Mexico City in a bid to combat urban air pollution
Mayors from Paris, Madrid and Athens have said they will ban diesel vehicles from their cities' roads by 2025 in a bid to drive down urban air pollution. In a commitment announced yesterday at the C40…”

There are now more bicycles on the road than cars in Copenhagen, according to official estimates. Bicycle sensors in the Danish city recorded an increase of 35,080 more bikes on the roads over the past year which brings the daily total up to 265,700 – compared with only 252,600 cars. This is a massive jump from when the survey was first conducted in 1970 where there were 340,000 cars and 100,000 bicycles on the road.

O nosso ouro é o sol e o vento.
NAGOYA, Japan -- Toyota Motor intends to start mass-producing electric vehicles by 2020, hoping to expand its lineup of green automobiles beyond hybri

4 razões e nenhuma delas é o ambiente
Paris officials have announced ambitious air quality improvement plans which involve removing many polluting diesel-powered vehicles from city streets.
No Combustion-Engine Cars Sold in Germany After 2030, Parliament Says...
At the current 2016 Paris Auto Show, virtually every major auto manufacturer is showcasing new electric vehicles. PARIS — For perhaps the first time at a major international auto salon, the stars of the Paris Motor Show are electric cars.
“The move comes as the OECD (organization for economic co-operation and development) published a damming report on the Worldwide consequences of poor air quality. It said: outdoor air pollution could cause 6 to 9 million premature deaths a year by 2060 and cost 1% of global GDP - around USD 26 trillion annually - as a result of sick days, medical bills and reduced agricultural output, unless action is taken”
The nation’s parliament is calling for the elimination of the internal combustion engine by 2030.
