killian-hainesâ:
Books were one of Killianâs many passions in life. He loved to read, especially some of the older, more classic books. He found one whose title he was familiar with in a glass case and reached for it.
Killian looked over his shoulder when he heard someone addressing him from behind the counter. He hadnât realized the shop keeper was there, and much less that the book was a first edition. He turned the book over in his hands and inspected it carefully. âWalden by Henry David Thoreau. Ticknor and Fields, eighteen fifty four. This thingâs old as dirt. How much do you want for it?â he asked.
Varek wondered if the man even understood what a precious thing he was holding in his hands, the book was rather rare and he kept it under close watch. Heâd yet to find someone willing to pay for the treasure, âIt is... Probably one of the oldest books I have here.â
He licked his lips, âAt least a couple thousand-- though I am known to undersell things for people who are true book lovers.â
