Derek smiled up at her, letting her have the victory if only for a moment. He was up on his feet in a flash, eyes seeping into red. He grabbed Erica and spun her to face one of the rusted train cars. "What was that?" he asked breathing heavily into her ear. The wolf was furious that a beta had bested him, even if he was giving a little slack to avoid hurting her. His claws dug into her sides where he kept her pinned, firmly beneath him. There was a rush of excitement almost as if he were chasing something and finally caught it in his grasp. "Never let your guard down."

A perfect date? I'm not really sure, I like the idea of us just laying on the couch watching Stiles' favorite old movies. He talks through the whole thing so it's not really us watching so much as me listening to him ramble on about differences between the characters. I like it best when he talks though, it's who he is.

you never had the chance to choose between becoming werewolf or not, so if you'd be given the choice now, which way would you pick?
Honestly? I would want to be human. Being a werewolf has only brought me pain, my family was killed because of what we were. I understand that being human doesn't change that my family still could die, but maybe it wouldn't have been so hard. I say the bite is a gift, because in some ways it is. It can turn someone from being so ordinary into to something extraordinary. Doesn't mean I'd take it if I happened to be human.

We met as planned, but Sam and I have moved past having drunken one night stands. We both have someone very important to us now and we respect that.

"Stiles, please listen to reasoning." Derek slammed his fist on the driver's window of the Jeep. Stiles sat quietly inside with his head down, trying to ignore the newly made Alpha. "I had to do it..." he said after a long pause. "i had to kill Peter before he healed. Scott wasn't ready for that kind of responsibility." the look in his eyes was pleading, searching for some form of understanding. Maybe Stiles didn't hate him, and maybe he would eventually understand why things would be different now. Derek sighed, leaning his forehead to the glass. "Please understand." he whispered.
Stiles sat un-moving in his Jeep, as if he was waiting for Derek to leave. He wouldn't though, not until Stiles understood. Derek didn't want the power or responsibility, he wanted his family back, he wanted his uncle not to be a killer, most of all he wanted to start over with Stiles. Get the chance he never had that was gone now. Derek could tell by the way Stiles clenched his jaw that he wouldn't be forgiven. "Fine." he hissed out. "Have it your way Stiles, I trusted you to understand. Obviously it was a stupid mistake." His tone was patronizing now, with a bite of hurt behind it.
Derek didn't need Stiles, he didn't need anyone. He was an Alpha now he could replace everyone with people who wanted in his pack. People who were deserving of his trust. Part of him still hoped though, that Stiles would look up at him, beg for him to stay, but he wouldn't. Stiles was too strong for that, and no matter how much of Derek wished it wishes just didn't come true.
