I think a possible bagginshield implied fic could be set during the beginning of the journey of the fellowship of the ring.
And gimli, being a dwarf, able to start being suspicious of some slight dwarf qualities Frodo has (Frodo being a mostly hobbit looking bagginshield baby) and whenever gimli asks the other hobbits about it theyāre like āoh no thatās normal. Frodoās always been taller than the average hobbit, with less hair on his feet, and an eye for gemstones, and has to shaveā¦ā
Then gimli starts to put together thorinās involvment in Frodoās existence, especially Gandalf mentioning the mithril shirt. thatās when gimli freaks the fuck out
