Earlier tonight I was jamming this psych comp I bought when I still lived in Chicago, at Shake, Rattle and Read (which I’m super stoked to revisit after a breakfast at Golden House while I’m back visiting this week), and heard these songs as I was cleaning up the cabin and just stopped to listen. Holy shit.Â
Also, best feature about our home is the set of Sansui speakers on the floor and the set of Pioneers up in the loft, hooked up to a very solid Yamaha. PRIMO psych reverberations tonight.Â

Today’s afternoon with the rap station was genuinely eye opening and a welcome break from everything else I’ve been stuck on lately. Lots of questionable lyrical content, but texturally there is some brilliant work going on. So much ear candy.Â
Too bad most of this is getting covered by dirt. That's how you know somebody has money... cover the copper with mud.

Kohei filmed the gig on Saturday. Definitely one of the best and most fun shows I’ve played/attended in awhile. Rashomon and Kombat were both fantastic. Fried Egg killed it and their new record is oh-so tight.

Man, this album came out just over two years ago. It’s really fucking good. Mikey Cantor, who was the main brain behind The Ambulars, who I released a 7″ for what feels like years and years ago, is the very specific brain behind this album. This is a sober dreamer and simultaneously a joint deep spacer. It is fantastic. Ambient tonal noise layered beneath barbershop style vocal harmonies dish blurry/contemporary Beach Boys vibes on certain tracks. It’s almost meditative. Genuine and beautiful songwriting. This album rules.Â
