Derek who i actually a good cook and a decent baker and maybe he takes a couple of cooking classes, big deal. 

Derek is very good at supplying Stiles with food without actually drawing attention to it. Enough so that it takes quite awhile for Stiles to actually pick up on it. 

Possibly it’s not until he asks Scott one day if Derek ever just bakes him anything for no reason at all. And Scott looks at him with a mixture of surprise and pity. 

And Stiles probably frets about it all for awhile because he thinks about reciprocating and he doesn’t know how. So, probably he just ends up at Derek’s apologizing that he’s not good at anything. 

And Derek says something like, ‘you’re good at making me happy,’ and Stiles gets sort of lightheaded and is like, “that sounds fake but okay.”

Stiles uncertain of what to say to that says instead, “you’re going to make me fat.”

“It’s so you can’t run away,” Derek teases and Stiles laughs. 

Stiles’ hands are probably shaking when he tells Derek that he isn’t going anywhere, adds with a soft quiver in his voice, “if you really don’t want me to?”

“I really don’t,” Derek confirms. 

“Cool cool, cool,” Stiles nods. And that’s sort of that. Stiles wants to immediately discuss kissing but he doesn’t want to be rude. Instead, Derek makes dinner, which is almost as good because it’s pasta. 

It’s almost the same as it always is when Derek cooks for Stiles except Stiles’ leg won’t stop bouncing softly and Derek is holding Stiles’ hand. 

Stiles manages to wait until after the dishes are cleared and they’ve moved to the living room before he darts forward to press a chaste kiss to Derek’s lips.

Stiles tries to keep cool but he’s grinning too hard to probably sell it.

When he sneaks a glance over Derek is smirking so Stiles leans in again and this time Derek meets him, his hand settling on Stiles’ jaw.
