you know who else hasn't made a right wing pivot yet? Ned Fulmer. once again a youtuber has more integrity than i gave them credit for. which isn't saying a lot, but still.

"Your body knows whether it has this organ or not" okay so
what is the function of hormones in the body
what does the body "think" if you introduce the hormone that's produced by a specific organ in amounts that would indicate that you have the organ
See, I believe that the body's signalling mechanisms actually do something, rather than being fun little molecules that are unimportant in comparison to your cells' ability to read your spiritual alignment or whatever.
Like to be quite honest I don't think my body is smart enough to understand that there's no uterus in here while I'm actively flooding my bloodstream with the "you have a uterus" signalling molecules.
Asserting that it somehow "knows" without providing a mechanism for how that information is communicated, simply because there ought to be a way that it does, is what's known as "magical thinking."
hello, i thought this might be interesting to others so i am adding it here as a reblog: hysterectomy may not resolve dysmenorrhea pain because the majority of your period hormones are being produced by your ovaries, and the parts of your body that respond to the cramping signals are widespread, not just the uterus itself. someone REALLY should have said this to you at some point during your hysto prep, but doctors are famously shit at explaining simple medical concepts. so unless the ovaries are removed as well and non-cycling HRT started to prevent menopause, often the hormonal triggering of the period pain will continue, and if for example you also have endometriosis growing on your other organs and abdominal surfaces already, you will continue to bleed internally during menstrual periods even if uterine blood is no longer traveling out through your cervix. but sometimes hysterectomy does fix it, it just depends on the particulars of the case.
Watching any movie before 2000 reminds you that people in movies used to be hot but like in a normal way

I love your character designing so much! Everyone has such a unique design that appeals to their personality - whats your advice when it comes to drawing faces or different body types?
this is going to sound glib but 'just draw them different'
like you have eyes. you know when something looks different from something else. if you think they look the same, make them look different. if you drew one guy with a specific nose, draw the next guy with something else. if this guy has eyes shaped like X, draw the next guy with eyes shaped like Y. if you're drawing five guys in a line and they're all the same height and width you can See that. the only reason not to draw them different is skill issue (so get better!) or taste (which, if you're only into one type of guy, well! hope you get better or you get a thick skin because these days people care and will say so to your face)
so we'll say it's a skill issue. and you get better at a skill by choosing to improve at it. my specific advice is "learn how to draw fat people" so first you must decide you want to draw fat people. and a lot of people stumble at that first hurdle. once you can draw fat people and enjoy drawing fat people the world will open up to you and you will become capable of seeing beauty everywhere and in everything.

one of the newer game of thrones guys has some FAT tits on him, god damn. i don't go here, but let me take my time in this tag really quick... for science...
wow there's only two shots of his hairy rack in existence. this is why none of that shit is worth watching even the gifs are a waste of time

last night i dreamed people were getting plastic surgery to make their hiccups sexier. also that lin manuel miranda came out as bisexual and was being really annoying online about it. what do y'all think it means.

i think i might become the sort of person that carries a vintage medical valise around with them. hmmmm do i think i can get away with being that insufferable without being shot on sight.
i've been reading this recent report from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy titled "SCIENCE: A NEW GOLDEN AGE" first thing: it is all contradictions second thing: it is a detailed and accurate expression of what the powerful tech people think about science third thing: i don't think "the market" can replace the doge-cut science should you read it too? idk, maybe for knowing your enemy etc
i will attempt to summarize the report: science isn't profitable. science takes too long. scientists don't do enough groundbreaking work. scientists are bad at deciding who gets more funding. scientists have too much power over the world. too many "pointless" projects get funded. big projects require too many people for too few "big results". maybe scientists should try learning to do things with their hands. universities are expensive and wasteful. DEI is bad bc it distracts from making money today. things don't go fast and big anymore (like going to the moon). there are too many things to keep up with. why can't science go faster. why can't science produce results. unlike the slow and wasteful and small-brained scientists, AI can be trusted to produce results. In conclusion, let's do DIFFERENT things and be profitable. Easy.
the major offering of this report is that is tells you exactly what the current administration wants to hear from scientists. if i were in charge of a research group i'd make it required reading.
there is currently a trickle of federal funding for scientific research and i've been hearing from a lot of people that it might begin to increase in the near future but even if that happens, a point of caution: they will expect results. and yes, sometimes that will require working on science things but that's not what they're trying to fund. they don't care. they want the results. does any of that make sense? no. do they care? no.
