now, i don't want to say anything rude and uncalled for because i really have NOTHING against the students (except the snobby ones) or even parents who send their children to private schools because a) i have quite a few friends who go to private schools and they're the best people ever, and b) parents just want what's best for their kids, and if that means paying the extra fortune to ensure their kids get the best chance at education, then hey knock yourself out. I also know that just because a student goes to a state school this does NOT make them poor; likewise a privately educated student is not necessarily rich.

however, saying this, i stand my place in the belief that it is fairly sickening how, just because my family bank statement is as light as a feather, heightened by the fact that we are a fairly large family, why does that mean we should be thrown into a whirlpool of disadvantages when entering the wide world of a competitive society, which is supposed to be equal? now SURE, there are people leaving my state school sixth form with straight A/A*'s and receiving acceptance letters from highly valued universities like Oxford and Cambridge, and SURE if you work hard enough, ANYTHING is possible, right?! But you know, I bet people getting these results put oceans of blood, sweat and tears into gaining these, drilling endless stacks of information into every crevice of their brain. And I take my hat off them too! it payed off! But I bet you didn't know this; universities value an A/A* student from a state school the same amount as they value a C student from a private school. Let me explain that again. An A* student who is less wealthy, stands the same chances as a rich C student. Fucked up, right?
