i bet it feels good as fuck to intend to do something and then actually do it
There's always a moment of intense cultural whiplash whenever I realize I'm talking to someone who thinks "legal" and "illegal" are meaningful categories and ascribes innate goodness to following the law. It's like meeting a space alien.
so you can shoot a black child in the back as he's running away and get away with it with zero consequences, but god forbid a black child defend himself, because that'll land him thirty-five fucking years in jail—which is basically a life sentence. half of his life will be over when his sentence is up. all the fake talk of progress in this country has just been a way to silence black people for speaking out against the countless horrific injustices we're forced to experience, from microagressions to outright murder. you literally cannot go a day without hearing about another black person falling victim to systemic racism and then having to listen to people justify why they deserved it. and we're supposed to hold no animosity whatsoever as we grin and bear it.
This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.
This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).
Combine this with the mass of people inclined to believe (and being encouraged to believe) that if AI says and does something it must be correct

Incredibly violent take of mine but I actually don’t think you need to relate to a story in any way to enjoy it. You can enjoy a story even if you can’t point at a character and insert some aspect of your personality or identity into them. In fact I would argue the need for a character like that to be present in every single story you experience is a sign of stunted growth.
daily affirmations!!!
i'm so normal
nobody will ever know i am thinking about that fictional character non-stop
i got a degree in normal from normal university
if i analyze my oc's relationships enough maybe i can explode them with my psychic powers
i'm the normalest to ever do it
making those characters more aroace is always a good idea
#i understand is for the sake of the format#but i am fascinated by the implications that the srawing consents to being drawn
this is actually intentional commentary on the state of art because anyone who has drawn enough pictures can tell you that whether or not the drawing is consenting to being drawn right now has a huge impact on whether or not you're able to do it.
crazy how every time a female character gets cliche misogynistic writing we have to explain to people again that fictional characters are not real and do not choose things for themselves.
it’s really this at the end of the day tbh
hey why do u automatically draw butches dark skinned and femmes light skinned. just wondering why your femmes are always pale, especially always being put next to darker skinned butches. just wondering why dark skin is masculine and pale skin is feminine to you. just wondering why you always draw butches as predatory masculine darker skinned people grabbing on swooning pale skinned people. just wondering. just wondering!!

you should be able to send physical touch over the internet
I miss living in a reality without AI
Special shoutout to all the queer, intersex, and trans het folks. Sorry for all the “it’s illegal to be straight this month” jokes you’ll have to endure. Y’all are still very much part of the community.
you cannot make a post about how men put women in certain boxes without someone going "but what if i love the box? what if i've decided that it's comfortable in the box? are you gonna tell me i'm not ALLOWED to like the box? not very feminist of you to police a woman's decisions... maybe you'd be less ugly and miserable if you stopped talking about the box LMFAO #Girlboss #MyBox<3"
#and its like. 'what if ive decided its comfortable to be in the box' it is always going to be more comfortable to be in the box #they will reward you for staying in the box and punish you for trying to leave it #that doesnt mean the box is like. a good place to be — @butchfaith
also like
it's not about whether YOU like the box!
it's never been about whether any individual woman likes the box!
it's about how incredibly unfair it is that we as a CLASS OF PEOPLE have the expectation and pressure to stay in the box, and sometimes literal inability to get out of the box!
you can stay in that box until kingdom come because it's about a systemic issue, not your personal preferences!
The modern internet is deeply uncomfortable with the idea that any choices are socially informed, or that systems of oppression try to influence the choices of the people they oppress.
Hot take but rigid divisions between queer identities and heavily-policed labels that are treated like diagnoses are really, really bad.
Trans men have shared histories with lesbians who have shared histories with bisexual women who have shared histories with ace people who have shared histories with aro people have shared histories with gay men who have shared histories with trans women who have shared histories with nonbinary people who have shared histories with etc etc etc etc etc.
Labels are important for people who want them, but we need to stop treating sexuality and gender as rigid boxes and checklists.
yes. labels aren’t a fort you need to protect; labels are a pin you can add to your backpack to signal being part of something. You can, in fact, have more than one label (as a treat).

Something really needs to be said about the amount of queer shows with queer fandoms that are weirdly apathetic towards racism and misogyny.
