Postcards From Mexico

“From there we made the hour drive to La Rumorosa, the road being mostly quiet and dry, and yet still unlike other roads we had seen around Mexico. Yes, there’s the usual sort of bushes and trees, but while other states have an abundance of cacti, 

our roads have an abundance of rocks. Just huge beige rocks that feel like they fell from the sky in some prehistoric boulder shower and have been rolling around the area like cattle ever since. This is their land, and we are their guests. And the epitome of this rocky scenery is La Rumorosa. Equally curvy and dizzying as the roads amongst the Sierra Norte in Puebla, the Sierra Gorda in Queretaro and the Sierra Huasteca in San Luis Potosí, but more tamed. 

And I mean this in the evolving sense, because this area is known to have preyed on lone or reckless drivers, taking victims and cars to its rocky depths. Now-a-days its roads have been rejuvenated, re-secured, re-adjusted and given pit-stops with gorgeous views to the majesty of La Rumorosa.”

“I haven’t figure it out yet what I suppose to do with my life. I mean, since I was a kid, I never accepted really well why people have to choose only one thing to do for an entire life.

I’m learning something new everyday, you know, new people means different ways of perceiving new places. For real, If I could, I would be in so many spots at the same time, being with my mom and my family in Brazil, and traveling through the craziest places on earth.

I was afraid for a while because people (even your closest friends) keeps saying that I’m not living a real life, like I should have a real job, buy an apartment, blablabla. I just don’t care anymore, who said that I need to live my life for others?! Sounds a little bit selfish, but I mean, I’d rather prefer to spent my money on a lifetime experiences than buy material things, that I truly believe that I don’t need in this point of my life.”
